Can anyone name the songs playing in the Hacienda when everyones dancing in this documentry, apart from Confusion (btw, is that the video for Confusion, i didnt see that bit on TheBestOf video)All I know is I have never heard anything as good as it in my life, and it`s not even by NewOrder. Somebody tell me who the bands were or where to get the music PLEASE!! IT IS TOO GOOD, I DESERVE TO KNOW THIS!!!

They played Voodoo Ray and Hallelujah, amongst others, in the Hacienda bits. I'd have to see the film again: any other clues, Facsy?

Did anyone else actually go there? Bloody spooky that they'd recreated it to the nth degree.

The only time I ever went to the Hac was a Spritualized around July 1997. I'm guessing (though others may put me right on this) that this was probably the last gig ever at said venue. Anyway, I was dead excited about finally going to my heroes own little plaything (though they all seem to disown it these days!), and walking amongst the "frightening modernist beauty" of its design, etc., and when I walked in all I thought was "fuckin' hell, this place needs a lick of paint"!!!! Gig was shit too: notorious bad sound was present and correct, light show was a complete flop 'cos it was mid-summer and the great bloody window in the ceiling ensured that natural daylight neutered the lasers and strobes. Duh!

Sooooooooo, like Jarvo says, the movie recreates the place to the nth degree: it really is uncanny. It just looks a lot more pristine on the big screen than when I was there!!!

BTW, is anyone else also looking forward to the DVD of aformentioned movie?? I'm guessing they'll include lots of scenes that didn't make the final cut (including the NO "live" performance pictured in Wilson's book). Should be tasty, when it arrives....

Ignore my original post, thought you were talking about the film.

In the documentary they played Pacific State (808 State) and Voodoo Ray (Guy Called Gerald).

...has anyone already bought the soundtrack ??? I'm curious how the Moby track with NewOrder sounds...i've only heard the 30 sec. snippet on the partypeoplemovie-website...and i guess i'll have to buy that soundtrack as an expensive import..

Anyone else a bit dissapointed with the track listing on the soundtrack? They're all classics - but just a little too obvious. A bit like a NO set list in fact.

To be blunt, it's not all that. Moby's "Later" appearance was infinitely better.

And, as Seb said, the tracklisting's just a bit too 'obvious'. After seeing the film the stand-out tracks from the 'live' (actor mimed) appearances were Digital, Flight and Tart Tart, and none of 'em make an appearance here. Shame that cos they're all cracking tracks. Would've been nice to have included John Simm & Co performing their 'acoustic' Blue Monday as well. And perhaps included some of the funnier dialogue. Film sound-tracks are always sooo much better with dialgoue interspliced amongst the chooons.

Can't say I'm over excited by the soundtrack, tend to agree with Mr Jarvis - can't believe they left Tart Tart off. Was it me or did it seem to play forever in the film?

Not a bad CD to chuck in the car though to save you doing a compilation of your own but I suspect this is about 10 years too late for most.

Great minds always seem to think alike - i too would have loved the idea of a guitar-y "Blue Monday" for a change - simply because it's probably the LAST thing you would expect NO to do at their gigs! It was certainly an eye-opener seeing them doing it like that. As for some of the other songs that were heard but not on the soundtrack, Flight and Tart Tart would certainly have made my list too. In fact are there ANY ACR songs on the soundtrack at all? I don't recall seeing any. Could anyone confirm this for me? I've not really had a proper look at the OST album since it came out on Monday.

I don't think any songs by A Certain Ratio feature on the soundtrack Hubey - though I may be wrong. As for "Tart Tart" that happens to be my favourite EVER Happy Mondays track - one that I will NEVER tire of! What a fooking song!! (the B-side is ace too - "Little Matchstick Owen's Rap" - as featured on the initial Orange Box edition of the Factory cassette) :nod:

Who else here noticed that the opening titles featured the eponymous song by Happy Mondays played a lot slower than normal?? Honestly I'm not imagining this one! (God, I really should get out more!)

Agreed, Tart Tart should've been on there - think this got more air-time than any other single track in the film? Though they killed it dead at the wrong point - just as those 'floaty' keyboards come in at the end.

Shame there's no ACR - Flight, again, is a cracker in the film. Though f'knows what they were doing in the film when Wilson had a whinge about them playing 'jazz'. Thought it was gonna break into Si Firmo O Grido, but it seemed more like a jam session..

Was it really the Jon Carter remix?? Cos it didn't sound anything like a remix to me - it just sounded exactly like the original 12" single played at something like 40rpm instead of 45rpm!!! Unless the Jon Carter remix IS on the OST album....Hmmmmm. :skeptic:
