hum. wonder if those albums will be availiable here.
Something I noticed:
New Order bassist Peter Hook was right there at the birth of the dance/rock revolution. With his impeccable background in the field of processed beats, it should be a night to remember when he DJs at Parklife at The Shed ... .
Reading that article and thinking about the Eng v Aus Ashes cricket series coming up, it struck me that NOOL could create a virtual "Ashes Award" which should be sent to every journalist/newspaper/website who uses that word in a New Order related article. It could be a simple little icon containing some words or an ashes inspired slogan that can be emailed at a moment's notice - who wants to have a go at designing one?

Glad they're remastering the JD albums but I reckon the NO albums are more of a deserving case for that treatment right now. After all, Heart & Soul is all you really need when it comes to Joy Division (cept live stuff) and has always sounded great. The H&S remaster was done by Andy Robinson wasn't it? So obviously had a bit of care put into it as he's "one of the family", wonder why they're doing it again? Can't think recording technology has moved on that much since '97. Unless it's just for the cash!
A remastered "Still" would be nice I suppose but I'll be taking my time buying these when they eventually come out.

I've never used the 'risen from the ashes' line in a biography or review. (Not that I remember at least!)

All these remasters... The only remastering trick is playing with the equalizer on the mixing channels. Phhh...

I remember when Siren's was released there was a twenty word review in the Financial Times, ten of which were "Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of Joy Division"
It's not bad journalism, it's just the correct name for the band. Read Debrettes if you don't beleive me!

No I also keep noticing those 'rising from lines. am also sick of it. They picked up the pieces and continued business as New Order so 'efficiently that those ashes hardly had a chance to cool. Almost are events that I do not want to continually read fresh print about. Should perhaps be accepted and laid to rest. Isn't here a new album to write about.
