Hello my friends, just letting you know I'm still alive. I hadn't been by in a couple of days.

Anyway, Friday night was fantastic. I went to visit my coz at Clemson University (that's in upstate SC, for you who don't know) and have some fun engaging in activities normally reserved for such occassions. Technically we went to a club for the local college radio station concert (featuring bands no one will ever hear of), but in reality, we wanted to get smacked. So, without further adiou, here is the complete list of beverages I consumed from the period of 7:15 or so pm until 12:30 am, April 12/13:

1 Killian's Red (to start off the evening) 2 Rum and Cokes Another Killian's Red (back at my coz's place-the concert hadn't started yet) 1 Bacardi's Ice 1 Mike's Hard Lemonade 1 or 2 Busch Lights (to round off the evening)

And i am proud to report, while suffering a bit of a sore neck from headbanging to some of the music, I only came down with a minor headache that was soon relieved before the afternoon of the following day. Well, that's how I spent my weekend....

Which doesn't quite equate to the 14 pints of Strongbow that sadly disappeared on Friday night......but then again I have had nearly 20 years worth of swallying practice and have a sizeable area in which to keep the stuff :)

Oh man am I happy that you came up with this --

I recently saw an ad regarding this new (?) Bacardi Ice beverage and thought to myself "this must be good", and since you share with me the same love for Smirnoff's Ice, then I absolutely need to know your opinion on the Bacardi version of this drink!

S.

P.S. Hello to everyone in Walhalla.

To whoever invented Smirnoff Ice.......

Tasty stuff, isn't it? If anyone remembers a soft drink called "Wink," it tastes just like that, with the added bonus of malt liquor. No vodka though...you have to add that yourself.

Fortunately it hasn't yet acquired the reputation of Zima, so it's still cool to purchase it.

Speaking of which, no one has answered my query: of what brew are Our Lads partaking in the New Order Story video?

Often wondered that myself (not that I'd go out and buy it specially !!)

Apparently Tescos are now selling Barcardi Breezer concentrate in large litre bottles - to be drunk either as a shot or mixed with lemonade etc.. :D

In Engerland, this wouldn't even guarantee you qualification as a 'girl'. ;)

Try drinking 15 pints of Stella in a session - sorts the men from the boys, from the, er, girls.

El Jarvo,

Try this on for size. Last Saturday night was an outing to celebrate a couple of birthdays that happened close together. It was just me and the boyz, so there were no significant others to question our intake.

(Jeff will know the places I'm going to name.)

I had two fine American pilsners on the drive into the city. We started off at The Blue Goose for some Tex-Mex (it really IS different from "Mexican" food). In addition to sour cream chicken enchilads, rice, beans, chips, queso and salsa, I had four margaritas.

We then rolled down to an establishment known as the Billiard Bar. Billiards, Air-Hockey, Golden Tee and a juke box with New Order can be found there. Here I consumed two shots called "Boobie Juice". I didn't ask about the name, but it tasted like a Kamakazie. I aslo had four Red Bull & Kettle One & tonics.

It was off to a cheesy dance club called the Red Jacket. It was two more of those "Boobie Juices" and two more Red Bull & Kettle One & tonics.

It became very blurry after that. We had a designated driver....well, kind of. He was less loaded that the rest of us.

So let's see:

2 beers 4 margaritas 4 shots 6 Red Bull & Kettle One & tonic

I hope that makes it passed "girl" status. :)

Bacardi's is almost like Diet Smirnoff, really. All the flavor's there, to be sure, but it's kind of like "which one you had first, that's the one you'll prefer"

So really, that's 2 beers and 16 chasers? I'd say that's past 'girl', and fast approaching 'tart'.

Americans really don't know how to drink, do they? ;)

Shouldn't we be supportive and nurturing of each other instead of competitive? Does it really matter how much you drink?;) This thread comes at a good time, I just back from my field's national conference (or international because it was in Toronto). Pretty much a drinking fest, I averaged going to two symposia out of three full days of presentations.

Thursday and Friday were nothing to speak of, no hangovers so doesn't count. But Saturday night was not bad. Went to our University of Akron party (schools host parties for stuidents, falculty, alumni, faculty from other schools, and people looking for free booze) and six or seven glasses of wine then we headed out for the night life of Toronto. The bar we went to didn't have Bombay Sapphire (my favo gin) so no G&Ts but if I remember correctly there were three double rum and cokes (I like to be efficient in my drinking) and one regular. Then back to the hotel bar for a couple Sapphire G&Ts. All in the name of education!! Though I probably killed all the brain cells that contained the knowledge I've gained since August. :( Back to square one, I guess.

And the best part is that on the way back to the States we stopped at the duty free shop and I picked up two liters of Sapphire and one of captain morgan for thirty two bucks!! I don't plan on going to school this week!;)

Let me just add that I don't endorse or encourage binge drinking. Everything in moderation, right! As all the liquor companies add- Drink Responsibly!!! And go to church, help old ladies across the street, and do your homework.

Right. Enough of this Brits embarrassing the Septic lightweights.

I hereby challenge the entire USA to a drinking challenge at Finsbury Park. If you ain't there, that's too bad. Those who are will be encouraged to start practising soon - as we have some real swallyers over here, the boy Sludden being a particularly fine exponent for someone so titchy :)

Oh dear...

a drinking contest with a buch of folks from the UK...

I usually stop after my 12 pack runs out....don't know how well that would hold up...and I fear that I might forget some rather important details, such as how to get back to my hotel...what my name was...or which one is Shug...not that he would know by this time either!!!! ;)

please...please...be easy on me...I'm just a wee little merican...

I'd probably :\puke:

and who knows who (or what) I would try to :sex:

oh well...all I have to say is...

Wish I could be there for Finsbury but, alas, I have school this summer. Perhaps I'll drink alone and listen to the songs of the setlist.

Since we're having a country vs. country drink off, perhaps in twenty or thirty years we could have a liver contest. We could compare the percentages of function that we all have in our livers.

Cheers!

oh no...you don't want my liver in THAT contest!!!

not that I drink THAT much....

Jeff, you'll notice I left the contest open. I didn't specify whether the winners would have the functioning or the non-functioning livers!!!

You'll have to represent the U.S., sir. Do us proud, we believe in you!

I shall do my best...but I fear that it might not be enough...let's see how dead I am when I get back from Engerland!!!!

This is gearing up to be one helluva do:nod: I am thinking about taking the following week off work - make it a marathon session:spit: The first thing I'll do when I get to work tomorrow will be to book Monday off as a certainty - and we'll see how it goes from there;)
