I used to do this too! When I lived with my parents we lived next to a huge tract of woods. Directly behind our house was a wooded ravine with a creek, and walking up the trail along the creek led to abandoned neighborhoods that the city had bought out because of the adjacent airport. All the houses were gone except for a few outbuildings, and there was an abandoned soccer field in the middle. All of this was interspersed with mixed woods. We only get a good snow in Seattle about once a year, and when it happened I'd be compelled to tromp around out there with Joy Division in my headphones. Ahhhh!!! The place would be completely silent and not a soul around (except for the occasional low flying aircraft).
