I really dont think that NO are breaking up...

They are actually quite relevant today. They have influenced an entire generation of new bands. LCD Soundsystem, Juan Maclean, The Killers, The Bravery, Hot Chip, the Faint, everyone one of these bands has been pretty heavily influcned by New Order.

WFTSC sold pretty well, went top 5 in the UK, and I thought it was an excellent album. I read a lot fo positive reviews for it. I loved it! I listen to it a lot, more than any other album except for Technique and Low Life.

They just completed a successful sold out tour of the UK and South America...by all accounts they were great live.

I saw them at Chicago 05, front row. They were brilliant. Just smashing.

I just wathed a ton of pro filmed footage from NO's headlining performance at Personal Fest...supposedly thier last show...

last show my ass! The audience adored them and was cheering hard for them! Look the the footage. Barney is dancing like a madman, Phil is smiling, dandcong, and pmping his fist while playing his Keyboards, and Hooky is giving it his all!

Great show.

How could they quit after that.

They take a year or two off, then theyll release a great album, and do another mini tour. Theyll have a final show in manchester, then theyll call it a day.

I hope.

Im 24. I live in COlumbus, Ohio, USA. Ive been madly in love with New Order since I was 13. They inspired me to make my own music

so they are pretty fucking relevant to me. :)

Zak - That Solitaire tune is pretty ace. You need to sort that daft barnet out, though.

Judging by a few recent interviews, surely the band has taken the "god-like genius" label far too seriously? I mean, it was just an NME (who know good music nowadays, don't you know) award meant to promote the new album, after all. It deliberately gave Warners something to slap on the cover of WFTSC to move some more units. And it gave the NME the ability to look back and say "Hey, we featured these fellas back when no one knew them, so we still have hipster credibility up the wazzoo for championing bands like the Arctic Flunkies." Nothing more.

A cunt, a prick, a cock, a Blundering Unpopular(?), a Blunderbuss :evil4:

And all for stating the facts.

Here we go again. Close your buttock cheeks, El Jarvo, coz I know this hurts you, but, here we go.....

From the heart of the lion's den.....

From a Lonely Place....

THEY ARE FINISHED! THEY SHOULD HAVE SPLIT YEARS AGO! THEY ARE A SHADOW OF THEIR FORMER SELVES! THE GIGS ARE LIKE KAREOKE!

The majority of New Order fans from the past accept this.

Some of you need to wake up and realise this, you really do.

Does anyone reckon this silly cunt is Fat Bob in disguise?

Nah, I reckon he's a bitter music journo in disguise! Blunderer, please do us all a favour and FUCK OFF!

To get back to the topic of this thread, it'll be pretty shit if this is true. I don't think they mean it, though. I won't be totally convinced until I hear an official anouncement!

Thanks a lot! I put a lot of work into that song, I played everything on it. it usually goes down well when I do it live. TF, as well as Giorgio Moroder, was a bit of an influence on the feel of that song. You should check it out when I get the version with vocals up.

Now, you leave my silly haircut alone. ive had it for eleven years, its part of me....as barney had the same haircut for...well, since 1981. :)

Im really happy that you liked the song. :0

Frankly, I'd prefer some more Electronic right now. Too bad the boys don't have the stamina of the 'Stones.

Greetings :) don't feel bad. There were always rumors of New Order spliting. I was lucky to see them at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. That was their first concert in 13 years! I hope it's not over :( . I went to a New Order/Joy Division tribute party last month, and Peter Hook will be spinning a DJ set Jan. 6th at the Smart Bar. :thumb:

I'm so sad..was too young in the eighties to catch them, they never really came to my city during the Get Ready or WFTSC tour, dammit!

Well, they are right after all. All I wanted is them not becoming ridiculous touring forever like old men resting on their old hits, with 2 or 3 new songs every 5 years; which was becoming the case, actually.

I think WFTSC was an OK album, but with some really useless songs (Jetstream, brrr), which felt like the band was runing out of ideas. It might be the right time to stop, before the legends collapses under the weight of "we-used-to-be-geniuses" albums (e.g. the cure, depeche mode in the late 90s).

And BTW, really waiting to listen to the "3-bass" sound, especially with Hook in the making :)

Like Stephen said, "even the band doesn't know". You know New Order they never know what the future holds for them as a band. That's something I alwasys loved about them. It's definitely the last show for a while.....They'll probably be back in a few years but after that who knows. Next time might be the last time....
