Sooty? Baz?

Bez, surely?

Sooty was a puppet. I'd like to think that Barney meant Basil Brush, but it is more likely to be Jarvo's suggestion.

It was a bit of a cack article in the mag a month or so ago. Barney likes BEz coz 'he doesnt give a toss' or something like that, and Steve apparently took up drumming coz he liked Sooty - who was also a drummer on that dire kids program

Slightly worrying that Steves hero is a puppet!!

Bez is as cool as fuck tho!! anyone that can spend years on end completely and utterly mashed up and still stay alive to tell the tale has gotta be a bit of a hero!!

anyone know the name of the book he wrote? its supposed to he hilarious i'd love to get hold of a copy.

Yes, it's called Freaky Dancing. It's got quite a lot of Bernard mentions in it.

Stevies hero is a puppet??? What the hell???

OH well...my hero is a middle aged man who doesn't sing all that well, and has breasts almost as large as my ex-wife's.

Shug must say your list of heroes certainly explains a multitude ;)

Agreed with the moomins, that was (and I dare say still would be) terrifying.

What about the Flumps? I've always reminded me of Pootle. :(

Bagpuss is King Cat - when Bagpuss goes to sleep, ALL the other animals go to sleep...

I'm too young for Murphys Mob.

Yes TV was shite but I'm happy knowing that these things framed the way I am today rather than in 20 years time be on a NO forum rambling about Barney the dinosaur, no in fact I probably will be doing just that...

Hey did any of you folks ever recall a CARTOON COMIC version of "The Likely Lads" ? Now that was pretty piss poor if you want my honest opinion. Absolute cack it was - and so unrelated to the TV series of the 70s!

:cool2: :cool2:

Don't you start:lol: Speaking of Rab C - anyone remember his brother?

BIG BAD MENTAL SHUG:nod:

Can't recall that mate - but staying with The Likely Lads (top class BTW) what do you think about Ant & Dec remaking the classic episode, where they're trying to avoid the footy score? DISGRACE if you ask me!

Whereas I am currently resembling one of the Hair Bear Bunch as opposed to Monkey Magic!

Well, here's two fave characters of mine: Anyone remember ITSY and BITSY - the two furry spiders that used to help out Susan Stranks on "Paperplay" - essential lunchtime kids TV viewing in the early 70s? Hubert, do you? Timbo? What made it so fascinating was BITSY (the red, male, one) was always crawling up Ms Stranks arm and trying to get at her tits. What was even more revealing was that Ms Stranks admitted to never wearing a bra ever on TV, so that must have goaded the puppeteer into every imaginable scenario....hee hee hee....  :nonono: :D

Strangely Marty I remember Itsy and Bitsy, must have been re-run. Can't say the tit fondling puppeteer would light my candle though!

Aye, know all about it - sounds a bit naff if ya ask me... mind you, have they got enough ultra-wide-angle-lensed TV cameras before they can start filming? I ponder this because Ant's forehead is getting so fooking high he's gonna end up looking like that TEFAL Boffin on that telly ad... The way he's going his forehead will split from the rest of his body and launch a solo career all of his own!.....maybe someone should take him to one side and have a quiet word in his ear... :skeptic:

:cool2: :cool2:

Which one? If his forehead's that large they'll both be in different hemispheres?

Corby is in Northamptonshire - 8 miles from Sheepshagland (kettering) 60,000 peeps with the majority being Scots - mainly due to the steel works (although the biggest part shut down in the early 80's - thanks to the fuckin tory bastards!) The Scots came down in large numbers in the 50's and 60's to find work - hence it still being regarded as little Scotland:nod: Nowhere down here is quite like it - Celtic and Rangers fans have a good craic (most of the time) you often see The Timmites and The Hunnites sharing a beer and a laugh, doesn't happen very much up the road. Mam and Dad were both born up the road - as were the rest of the elders, I was brought up a Celtic & Scotland fan - and naturally to cheer on anyone playing England:lol: 2nd Generation Plastic Jock - That's the Shugster - and all I can say is..........ARGENTINA, ARGENTINA, ARGENTINA:evil4:

English? moi? nae fuckin chance;)

So why don't youse all fook off back up again then if there's no work and it was closed down by the ENGLISH government ? That's 60,000 less dents in the taxpayers burden paying for your purple tin... :)

If ye canny take a light hearted wind up from ShugZV - yer in trouble mate:lol:

In the Mojo interview the following was revealed;

Barney likes Daft Punk Hooky likes Cold Play Steven likes Missy Elliot.

Missy Elliot?! :nonono:

Gillian says she a big fan of the Beach Boys and believe it or not, Kid Rock. Rumor has it she digs NASCAR too, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Surely this is blatently untrue... :nonono:

So, further investigation reveals

Barney likes REO Speedwagon, Neil Diamond and Funkadelic, but hates Prince cos he thinks he's an overrated shortarse pimp. Hooky likes The Hollies, 10cc and the Chameleons cause he's blatantly biased in favour of local talent, but also professes a soft spot for Cilla Black and Bruce Lee. Stephen likes Trevor Horn and Spandau Ballet but absolutely despises Duran Duran and Nick Heyward. He also professes a soft spot for Patrick Moore. Gillian likes Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger but doesn't reckon much of Jan Hammer and Neil Young's stupid vocoder. She is however, a massive Foreigner fan.

Go figure.

Yep, Stephen does like Missy Elliot ... He played one of her clips when they hosted Rage ... As for Gillian liking Kid Rock, I don't know about that ... I find that guy to be one of the more irritating guys on the planet !!
