The "Swinging Milkmaid" bit, that's what I meant, dearest. :D :evil4:

Here's my attempt Marty....

1 - It's either T-Coy or Quando Quango - can't remember exactly which band was first... 2 - Why Call It Anything?. Venue - not too sure about that one. Don't live in Manchester so wouldn't really know would I? ;) 3 - Is it Dub Sex? King of The Slums? 4 - Angel Dust (I think, can't be any other tracks as noisy as that one!) 5 - Not too sure about this one... 6 - The Hacienda Cat ! 7 - The name escapes me at the moment 8 - Durutti Column 9 - Vini Reilly played on Morrisseys "Viva Hate" 10 - Hooky and ? ? ? 11 - Haven't the foggiest, man! 12 - Five Teddy Bears or something like that? 13 - Haven't a clue!

sorry mate - I'm knackered - I should be in bed now anyway!

:cool2: :cool2:

Well, as for the rest of you slackers....

I take it none of you are interested in getting your mitts on the rare Double-Gatefold Vinyl Factory issue of "Substance 1987" then?? :D

Okay - suit yourselves.

Too right someone's gonna get it - right between the eyes.. :evil4:

No, seriously....I like maintaining a sense of order to these kind of things, so if no one gets this teaser and clinches the mystery prize, then the opening of Room 101 can only be delayed further [a la London Records' release schedules].... now you know and I know that's not we want is it??? !! ;)

Are you listening.... AYWKMBTTOEGAT ??!! :D :D :D

Biting Tongues is NOT the correct artist I'm afraid m'lud.

Where's Jarvo when we need him? He'll know this one I'm sure!!!! ;)

Martin, I'm a colonial. So I've never heard of any other band on Factory except OMD (they were a one hit wonder, right?) and Happy Mondays who were a one hit wonder as well with "Steppin' on".;) I know James too but don't know that they started on Factory. When your quiz came out I got the Angel Dust one and that was it. Somebody help me!! Mr. Jarvis, help!?

I reckon I could name 50% of these, no problem.

But am not sure of the point of this.

I'm not a Manc, nor is Marty, and nor is anyone else on this board that post regularly. So, er, what's the point? To like NewOrder, does not mean to say you, in any way, have to like all Mancs. Having briefly lived in Mancland I have to say, the air is far cleaner Darn Sarf.

Oooh you are a miserable soul today - this is just a little quiz for "fun" !! That's all!! ;) Remember the golden age of the "teaser" that used to get everyone excitedly wetting their knickers at the pros[ect of the cheeky elusive answer! That's what this one is - only with a few more questions!! So chin up! It's just for fun before the true madness that is "Room 101" gets reopened for the masses to wallow once more in... :D

Surely a lot of people who post here know stuff about Factory? Then that's what the point of this thread's about! To just test people on their Fac Knowledge - it's nothing new - after all, how many other threads on this forum are "recycled" ideas? A lot I'd say!! :)

So go on - show us what you can do matey! ;)

That was a ten Stellas of a Friday neet type reply from me.

And, no, I'm not playing! ;)

So there!

Right Okay! The title has now been amended in a bid to try and ensnare a few more of you into taking part in this quiz.

Here's the deal. Either more of you get off your lazy apathetic butts and attempt to solve this teaser and thus claim the exclusive prize....... OR.......

.....The relaunch of Room 101 gets it....

:violent: :violent: Room 101 Revival :headoff: :headoff:

I knew Quando Quango.....but nothing else

...does one get any points whatsoever if one only answers the questions that haven't yet been answered in this thread? ;)

cos i'd feel almost as though it were cheating were i to answer things that have already been answered (and correctly, too!) previously...

and finally, if anyone else wants to join our world and play our game, 'twould make me do a dance of joy. :D and it can have as much or as little to do with Manchester and/or your knowledge of Manc bands/people/places/things as you'd like! ;)

Depends...it is one of those grimy as fuck white ones?

Too much white for my liking. With crap nonsensical splodges of colour as a poor excuse for something more substantial and meaningful...

...which beggars the question, of course: just how grimy is fuck, anyway? :skeptic:

i expect the answers both to this and to the "elephant man cock" question on my desk by no later than 3pm, or the entire assignment will be downgraded by ONE FULL LETTER GRADE for each successive HOUR that it's late.

it's your grade, mister.

For your information squire:

It's pristine. White. Mint. Unplayed. Still Shrink-wrapped. An absolute perfectly unsoiled specimen.

Yeah??

Thanks to time zones, I'm actually 53 minutes early rather than seven minutes late.

To express unpleasantness, I usually like to use the analogy of cocksucking involving an animal, and usually one stricken with venereal disease at that (e.g., this sucks syphallitic platypus cock). However, I've been trying to branch out and discover new metaphors. I thought that cocksucking involving the corpse of John Merrick, a man with a world-famous disfiguring disease, would most closely approximate the unease I felt hearing you review a track I had not heard.

Perhaps I should have capitalized Elephant Man to signify the reference to a specific person.

Either way, it still sucks.

the relative suckage or non-suckage of that statement was never in dispute; don't worry. i suspected this was what you meant, but was indeed not sure. however, i obviously can't say much about lack of capital letter usage now, can i?

but it could've been meant in an elephantine sense. or as some random stream-of-consciousness thing...ie, elephant-man-cock. only obviously with hyphenation only mental and not written.

i suppose this might well answer how grimy fuck might be as well, though. you get a B+ for effort. :D

Nice try Gnu. But that isn't the answer to question 13 that I was looking for..... ;)

...but it is, however, the answer to #12...is it not? :angel2:

My favorite review ever was in Stereo Review about a million years ago, regarding an Air Supply record.

After observing, "The guy sings likes he's about to tear his lungs out...and you wish he would," the reviewer concludes simply but unequivocally, "If you buy this record you will die."

I didn't buy it.

Jee-zus Koo-ryste!!! Another person who remembers Air Supply. :nonono:

Remember that very very long note the fooking singer holds at the end of their only big UK hit, "I'm All Out Of Love"??

Can you remember exactly how many seconds he held that one for? And what happened to his arse afterwards?
