I can sing, took 8 years of piano lessons so I could prolly twitter my way through some keyboard-mashing. I can also read mooozick from piano lessons and various choir schtuffs. I've also been told that I have the drummer's fire, but I haven't the foggiest as to what that means or if it is relevant.
I would wub to be in a band. Of course, if I dropped out of law school, I think my parents would be v. upset with me. Teehee.
Apparently the alleged Midwest pipe bomber can be counted among "aspiring musicians:"
PINE ISLAND, Minn. (AP) - The man arrested by the FBI Tuesday in connection with the string of pipe bombs left in mailboxes is a college junior who studied industrial design and played in a punk rock band called Apathy."The top things I care about are my girlfriend ... and my music/band," Luke John Helder, 21, wrote in an autobiographical capsule on his band's Web site. "I party, play guitar, and talk online to everyone. That's my life."Officials at Pine Island High School declined to talk about Helder, as did several neighbors. But former classmates said Helder loved the grunge band Nirvana and was preoccupied with Kurt Cobain, its lead singer, who committed suicide.Helder played guitar and sang in his punk rock band, based in nearby Rochester. More than 400 messages flooded the band's Web site Tuesday, many of them scorning Helder. Two songs were posted on the band's Web site, "Conformity" and "Back and Black," but the lyrics were unintelligible.
His girlfriend must be so proud.
*snorts* yes. lead singer. never did young Kurt pick up a guitar. nor did he write. he just sang. ![]()
now, here's my question. just how quickly are we gonna hear blame for this being placed on the music he listened to, the games he played, the band he was in, etc, etc, etc...? ![]()
Luke, the Force will be with you always....sorry, somebody had to say it!
Yeah, this guy sounds like your typical "Gee, I'm fed up with not getting ahead so I'll blame everyone else for my own mistakes" kind of person. Stuff a firecraker in his butt and let the fun begin, I say. If he's a bigot...well, he ain't gonna have much fun in prison I imagine.
Alicia - I'll have to get back to you on Crystal and Vicious Streak, as I just started to learn bits and pieces of those.
When my friend finally buys a bass in july we will be forming a band- Transmission WILL be done, with me on guitar and vox. And we can DAAAAANCE! Crstals piss easy- chords are Am, but going 0-1-0-1 on the b string, then C, then D. actually dunno 'bout the chorus.
Oh yeah, apparently Barney's guitar is detuned one step, ie D G# C# F# C D. But you don't have to do that if you can't be arsed to mess about. Drop D tuning's bad enough...

Spot on about the chords for Crystal
dead fookin easy. However, if your detuning your guitar by one step, the top and bottom strings should be D#, not D. Also the second bottom should be A#. Or, if you have a DVD player with Karaoke function (and why wouldn't you
), it allows you to modify the pitch of the disc you're playing without having to re-tune the axe.

i may be really bad with music theory, but how can one tune one step down or up and know they're tuning it right with out a tuner? besides, what's the point with the wacky tunning (sonic youth is a criminal in this...)? what's wrong with the conventional tunning? or just change the key.
