My very first NO vinyl is LOWLIFE, bought sometime in 1985...and that LP changed my life :D ...and then I proceed to buy all other NO & JD stuffs and now I own about 250 NO & JD vinyls of 7", 12", LPs, etc...many of same releases but diff country of issues, diff catalouge numbers & all those tedious transpotting & fussy bits.

I have about 2,000+ CDs in my library now but I remember back in the mid-80s when I was about to buy my very first CD, I'd made sure that it was a NewOrder CD...thus, my CD number 1 is LOWLIFE - UK issue with Toshiba-Japan pressed CD.

And BROTHERHOOD was my next NO CD (probably my CD no.15 amongst DEPECHE MODE, WHAM, JOHN-COUGAR MELLENCAMP..ewww in my early CD library) and I'm happy to say it has the nice shiny metallic cover slick plus the car-carry case. I've to admit the BROTHERHOOD metallic version looks much better & spectacular on vinyl LP cover which I finally managed to buy from some dude in UK through Ebay only few years ago.:)

Interesting, what made you start with JD before NO?

By the time of buying Closer I had no idea who Joy Division were and, of course, I had never heard of New Order. The only reason I bought Closer was because I was told by the seller that someone from The Doors (yes, I was a fan) played on the album. Much later I found out that Joy Division became New Order. You know there was no Internet at time :).

Big brother bought everything up to PCL, I took up the cause from Low Life. A lot to be said for having an older brother with great music taste...

I became a fan during the first "dark period", and now here we are again...

1. 1994 - Republic, used bin for $4. Bought it mainly for Regret, one of my fave tunes of Summer '93 but instantly loved Ruined in a Day as well.

2. 1994- Traded in 5 crappy cds to get brand new Substance from same store I got Republic. Mainly to get True Faith, BLT and BM but I was blown away by the rest of the discs and the "journey" had begun!

I heard New Order at first time in 1988, but my first got NO album was "Technique", in 1989.
