Just had a phone call from our inside reporter Nickos Kingos.

Clearly heard Sunrise being played and he phoned me just before that but I only heard two seconds......I fookin hope it wasnae AGE OF CONSENT!!!!

I have been off work for the last two weeks with a virus, this did not cheer me up at all :viking:

On behalf of the Vikings in the audience......you lucky, lucky bastards :thumb:

Well...now that Barney is off of touring, it would make nice little sense if that soundalike Pottsy filled in on a few Order toons.

YeS,IT'S THE STUFF OF LEGEND!

After Pottsy's 6 song set,on came the maestro...with Jack on second bass!

For your money,oh the people who couldn't or weren't there, you're gonna shit....you got...

Insight ( with Rowetta on vocals) Age of Consent Sunrise Shine What do you want from me Insight ( encore )

It was fookin' awesome,& I can't contain my excitement,feel like a little schoolboy!

Amazing:clap:    :D :thumb:

Pottsy did a cracking job, joking before AOC that he hoped he wouldn't get slagged off tomorrow on here. For me,not a chance:clap:

It's all true, and it was great fun. Hooky Jnr's eternally straight-face was surely a JD pastiche.

Surely?????

Oh, and the gig was so 'intimate' that Hooky felt it necessary to touch up Pamela on the way to the toilet. TWICE.

It's lucky Ness wasn't around.

is jack on a sidekick, blackberry, or something? I'm sure these developments aren't a surprise to some people. Maybe this will convince Barney to load up the autocue with more songs.

Jack, you deserve a fuckload of credit for that tonight. Even if it did loook like you were going to shit the content of Pink Floyds wall at any given moment.

Still, you impressed me. And i'm a cunt.

gents it was a truly dogs bollox evening, after a good set by pottsy (haveyou got the album yet it damn fine!)the joy of hearing age of consent and sunrise is just amazing and even better for being in a small venue that was not overpacked..you wouldnt imagine rowette sings joy division would be good but it was and superb to hear the top monaco tunes.

Lets hope this happens again and if barney decides to hang up his mike for a couple of years i'd be happy to hear the old stuff sung by pottsy if its like that. Whoever has taped it please get the link up asap!!!!!!!

Oh, and just to make Pottsy's prophecy come tue, I'd just like to "bitch" about the lack of syndrums on "Insight", and though the lady behind the keyboards was very lovely, you couldn't hear the synths on "AoC". Tut.

Also, Pottsy could do with taking some tips from Liam and getting a good meal inside him - he's so skinny he made Jack look like a porker. Get some carbs in yer, fella!!

I guess nobody will shot me for giving details now, so I will tell a bit.

Sunrise was already rehearsed by Hooky, in fact he even offered us to do himself a cover that would have been on Community 2, due to schedules and New Order being busy, that never went through... obviously the idea of a New Order member "covering" New Order would have been funny, but let's be honest, sales would have been a lot better with Hooky on ;)

Age of Consent was rehearsed by New Order for the last tour, but I guess Barney was not confident enough to sing it and it never went through.

Insight is out of the loop, I guess they started to rehearse that one as well, maybe Jack can tell us... though it's not the most complicated song to play.

I would have loved to hear The Village, but I'll live with it ;)

Now let's hope some audio will leak, it has to ;)

The problem with Age Of Consent, and the reason they didn't play it in the end, was that Bernard no longer sings in the key in which the song was originally written, and they couldn't get it right in a suitable key during the rehearsals. Same for Sunrise and I think This Time Of Night. "Don't talk to me about fookin' key changes!! ;)"

so we missed out on AoC, Sunrise and TTON on the last tour  fair enough if he wasn't going to be able to do it in key though, probably wouldn't have done them justice if the singing was shite

Listen to Perfect Kiss from 2006 - they managed to get that one in a key that he could sing, but not the other ones. At least they were prepared to give them a go, that's something in itself. :thumb:
