The seedings have held up pretty well so far. Only one lower seed won in 32 first round matches, and that was only a #9 over a #9, not much of an upset there. Three lower seeds won in 16 second round matches. Two of those were only a #5 over a #4, not very big surprises there, either. However, in the last second round group, we finally had a significant upset, as #6 Thieves Like us beat #3 Waiting for the Siren's Call! Maybe WFTSC is not standing the test of time as well as some others? The other surprise is not that #4 Everythings Gone Green beat #5 Blue Monday, but rather the huge margin-19 to 8!

EDIT: The seedings continue to hold up very well. Only one lower seed won in the third round, and that was only a #3 over a #2, by just 3 votes. Overall, the higher seed has 51 wins and just 5 losses, and in only one of those lower seed wins was the seeding difference more than one spot, and that was a #6 beating a #3.

Whilst I commend you on your sterling effort, are we actually proving anything with this?

These four tracks were the top four track as voted by you, the viewers, this time last year.

And three of the four were also in the semis when Timbo did his New Order Cup before(Ceremony had been pitted against Temptation in an earlier round, and got knocked out).

Doesn't matter how often we do these things, or with which personnel, these four are always gonna be the top choons. .

Maybe so, but the NO Cup held last year did have a different semifinal than this tournament (last year's NO Cup) and Regret only beat YSF by one vote (in fact lost to them by one vote in the NO Cup last year) so we've probably got 5 teams that between them will always make the semis, and 3 teams with a shot to win the whole thing. Maybe this time the champ will be different? Besides, someone else had suggested this and as someone with no life to speak of, I took it upon myself to go ahead and organize it.

I'm not knocking your effort. We're just always gonna get roughly the same results, no matter who's voting.

I'm guessing Perfect Kiss will do Regret here, then Temptation will just pip Ceremony? And the winner of the latter will beat the former in the final?!

Temptation will crush Regret in spite of my vote for the contrary. I think Ceremony will beat TPK, but I do think that one will be very close, wouldn't be surprised of TKP wins. Then I think Temptation will edge out Ceremony in the final, though, again, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ceremony win. I will always come down to the Big 3: Temptation, Ceremony, and TPK, I think. At least on this site.

Eh? I got the semis wrong here! I thought Regret was 'playing' Perfect Kiss.

Temptation will win overall. Again.

"At least on this site"? I think this is fairly representative of the New Order world as a whole, no? In fact, I'm surprised to see something like Regret even rubbing shoulders with the big boys, but I put that down to the diversity of this site that it's sneaked in under the radar.

Nope, it's Temptation vs. Regret. This was the finals matchup in the NO Cup last year, even though Regret is at best the fourth most popular song here.

"On this site". Yes. If you were to take a poll of American music fans at large, who were not specifically New Order fans, I suspect Regret would win this competition, probably quite easily. But,as you say, it really can't run with the big dogs on this site.

Also, if you held a NO tournament on a website of American dance music fans, or somesuch, probably either BLT or Blue Monday would win. Obviously, that's not a fair poll cuz it targets a specific genre of listeners, though.

It's in my top 10, but it's really not on the same page as the other three, is it? Not even the same library.

Personally I would have Regret 1st out of these four, and Temptation last, but each to their own!

I'm with you on Regret first, then I'd go TKP, Tempation, and Ceremony last.

Anybody stupid enough to bet against Temptation coming first?

Why is that technique songs never seem to do well in these sort of Polls? and most consider technique the best album.

I don't completelty know-it's not cuz of me, though. However, I guess it may be because people think that Technique is a great album overall, because all of the songs are very good, but that there isn't any one song on there that blows people away. In other words, Technique has great depth, but no realy powerhouses on it. Also, maybe people like the overall mox of the songs, the way it (for some people) captures the essence of NO. Well, that's my guess, anyway.
