"Get Ready" UK Chart Position

WOW!!! I hope this is not really the case cos that is really disapointing for London Records. The whole fanbase has now bought the album. Next week #20+ I reckon. How very, very sad cos it's such a great album. I guess they are now just a tad too old to makes sales from Limp Bizkit fans. Didn't Republic enter the charts at #1? How times change. They deserved at least #3 I reckon.
Yeah, I thought it would get a higher placing than 6, especially with all the publicity and good reviews. I can't remember a previous NO album that has had as much corporate marketing as this one.
Well, Get Ready entered the charts with REGRET playing on the radio, that would be a major factor.
Not that Crystal is bad, but it didn't put the same numbers as Regret yet.
A summary, although not a fan of charts myself:
Crystal: straight in at no.8 in the uk chart, then down to 26 Crystal - second most played single in Sweden A journalist fave, in Norway at www.panorama.no and now "Get Ready" at no.6 in the U.K, next week no.2?
At least Radio 1 B listed Crystal, I heard it a few times. The problem is they are now a bit old to be played on Radio 1. I looked and when they were playlisted on Radio 1 they were by FAR the oldest band with a current release on the list. There credibility + Pete Tong A+Ring them must have got them on the B -list, but they were soon dropped when single sales disappointed in week 2 of release. Most of the NO fanbase is over 30 now and it is unrealistic to expect radio stations with a target age range of 16-24 to push artists out there age range. Remember, Depeche Mode have stuggled to be playlisted anywhere in the UK and they are as big, (If not as cool) as NO. I think the very fact NO got ANY airtime on Radio 1 is amazing considering the stations hostility to any band over the age of 30. Lets see if they playlist 60MPH? They will certainly take more interest in the upcoming collaboration with the Chemicals.
Expect future interviews to be conducted by Jimmy Young on Radio 2.Just imagine Barney talking about his drink and drugs to Gloria Huniford!! Won't be long until James Last covers Blue Monday. Richard Clayderman could replace Gillian on keyboards for the upcoming tour.

Hmmmm, I don't think any of us are ready for the old pipe & slippers just yet are we? It's sad that we have such a narrow minded national radio station, but there you go. On saying that, NO are still very relervant & contemporary. I reckon a Jimmy Young interview would be a great idea! I wonder if NO will still be touring in another 20years?
