i really like the taras svenchenko show also (now on the 316 DVD)...and yes, the intensity seemed higher back than (the 'pumped full of drugs' show was also good)..

looking back at movement, it took me awhile to get used to listening to it...but i do like it better than most of the current ones... it's much darker, and more introspective, and bernards voice was still evolving back then..

Yeah, Movment does suggest images of Ian and the gang walking around in the snow. Never was harsh weather used to a better effect in conveying the great image of a band.

i borrow the rest...from people who got other new order releases, just cuz i only own one new order disc doesn't mean i haven't heard the other releases (or have a copy on tape ;) i'm a cheap person you know). besides, i'm trying to figure out if movement is worth the money. from what i heard, i may buy it eventually...probably used cuz i waste too much money on music as it is...

How can anyone not like Movement? Doubts Even Here is one of New Order's most powerful songs, despite it's mellow feel. I usually compare it to Your Silent Face. Only it's darker, that's all. Dreams never End is pretty good, even though I didn't like it at fisrt. The Him was instantly impressive, as was Doubts Even Here and Denial. ICB (as a tribute to Ian Curtis) starts off like it's going to be terrible, but it ends up pretty good. Anyways, considering Doubts Even Here is my favorite New Order song, and the fact that I like the darker songs, this album is number two in my opinion. Because it has the most emotion in it.

Movement. It was the last one of the old LPs I replaced when CDs came out. It stayed in the rack mostly ignored cause Low Life, PCL etc hogged the player. Then a couple of years ago it got dusted off and WOW. It's never off now, if you like Joy Division and especially New Order doing Joy Division then you should get it now.

Movement and I have this weird relationship ... I guess I have to be in the right mood for it ... I mean, I'll put it on one day and think its brilliant and then there are other days where it bores me ... Its definately a challenging release ... But on a whole, the good days outweigh the bad ...

movement was the first thing by new order i paid attention to, because i thought the other shit was too disco. everything else grew on me, especially perfect kiss, but i loved movement immediately. i don't think it sounds that terribly much like joy division. the guitar playing is completely different (more choppy than heavy) and the mood is more desolate than angry.

I totally love Movement. Its one of my favourite albums and definetly one of their best albums. On the Movement album they still have that rawness and emotive energy about them that made them so unique and special when they where Joy Division. Heres a question to those who own Movement on C.D. I bought the album ages ago on vinyl and it plays perfectly but recently I bought it on C.D. and on the song called Senses, when it starts it misses the first few seconds out and so it starts differently to the vinyl version. Is this just my C.D. or is it one very bad production mistake?
