Very sad news. We all owe AHW a debt of gratitude for what he did for music and for Manchester. I'll tell my mum tonight - she will be gutted, cos she really fancies him. She purposely spilt her drink on him one afternoon many years ago when I took her out for lunch in Dukes 92. The thought of having him for my step dad was quite cool...

Just had a text telling me about this. It was almost inevitable I guess once the chemo failed, but even though I've been expecting it for months it still comes as a great shock. I don't know what else to say right now.

Just heard on 5 news...fuck cancers a real big shit of a disease, I hope wherever he ends up that there will be a continual 24hr party(no pun intended) Lets hope & realize that life's to short for bickering & scwobbling and old mates stay mates regardless.

Too sad for words, we all act as if we knew him, because we loved the music he gave us, the club he gave us, and quite often the philosophy in life he gave us, we may call him a twat, but I'm sure we would call our selfs twats for doing so, he will be sorely missed and music would not be what it is today if it weren't for him.
