"Can I just clear up this Manchester Evening News Article. In a conversation with Oliver Wilson about a tribute gig for his father, he asked me what the chances were of getting New Order to perform. I said, "Seeing as we have just split up, pretty slim.", he then said to me "If I could get the others to agree, would you do it?", I said "In honour of your father, I'd do anything."

This means I would sell the popcorn, take the tickets, sweep up after, play bass in New Order/Joy Division/Crawling Chaos.

I do wish that people would read things properly before mouthing off. I am definately going to have to learn to keep my big fat mouth shut (but I blame the bloody press!). And as Tony would say "Fuck em!"

P.S My beautiful daughter Heather is doing the typing, hence no mistakes, and beautiful punctuation and spelling. (I did the last blog as well!!)"

did anyone just hear that groan from Barney? :evil4:

So if Barney/Steve were to convince Oliver Wilson that Tony would want Hooky to stay with the band, he would..... :evil4:

It was a nice idea while it lasted. I can't believe he's joining Crawling Chaos.

you must be joking.

Not in the slightest, I would much rather have 90 mins of BLT, Toothache and Temptation for one last time than 30 mins of butchered JD alone.

how would it be butchering jd songs? what just because ian isn't here? dont NO butcher their own songs anyway,i.e.-barney cursing or changing words or dancing around? *scratches head* ya think they had to go through jd to get to be new order now dont ya.fuckoff. i wanna hear half anf half. half no/half jd.some butt trumpets on youtube going on about how they shouldnt play jd songs. well, they helped write the damn songs didn't they?might as wellplay them while you're still here?

Why half and half? Not a very fair return, now is it? Joy Division were a minority band who produced two albums in - what? - three years. New Order have produced four times that amount of studio albums and lasted close on 25 years longer than their original incantation. They've headlined festivals worldwide whereas Joy Division did, basically, diddley-squat live and, arguably, the latter simply don't have the sheer depth of tunes that New Order ever produced.

But that's just my opinion.

One Joy Division track for every five New Order in a live set though - and that's still pushing yer luck.

I think they should do a few JD, Electronic, Revenge/Monaco as the support band, then play the singles in chronological reverse order.

Try watching one of the vids or listening to the recordings, and make your own mind up!

I thought Wembley was good for that... you had Joy Division opening for New Order

nah, I don't think so. New Order never did any side project songs on stage.

And we all want New Order to reform, not the side projects.

Indeed*!*

Amusingly this made it into the "Pandora" gossip section in today's Independent under the title "Hook no longer out of order" saying Hooky was rejoining the band for one last gig!

Er, 24hrs after Hooky basically said he wasn't.

I heard that the gig will be in Ibiza, Shaun wouldn't lose this oportunity :D

Weren't the band supposed to play a gig a couple of months ago (after Hook had announced the split). He would only do it if the others agreed to call it the final gig, they weren't up for that so it never happened? Any gig now would be known to be the final gig whether called it or not. Who knows. I'm (still) keeping my fingers crossed.

This story now being touted on BBC R6 news.

The station is citing Mr Hook's hallowed 'blog' as the source of all information/divine goodness/heavenly light/spiritual salvation etc etc.

For goodness sake everyone, calm down.

Regardless of whether NO 'reform' for a 'one off' (yeah, right) Wilson gig, we'll be seeing plenty more New Order in the future anyway... just not for 4 or 5 years.

You're all a bunch of drama queens. Relax!
