Did the original poster of this thread change his screenname or something?
Because I thought when this thread first appeared, he had a different screenname.
Or is it just my eyes?

Snorri xxx
changed his name from Hookysnotadjsasshole to love bernard. And changed his location from Australia to England. How fast things change...
Indeed!

I didn't notice the location change though.
Well, anyway, the original poster must be either a troll masquerading as a NO/JD fan, or a NO/JD fan who happens to be a troll, or a strange immature kid who doesn't know how to behave online.
Or the combination of the three.

I couldn't give a shiny shite as long as he plays records that I like.
You know, this is what I despise about dance music... the artists that spent time creating the track get no credit, the DJ seems to get all of the credit for simply playing it and managing to mix the beat of the track into the next track. Ridiculous.
Let's put it this way, I'd rather watch dance bands like Underworld, Orbital etc play live keyboards, and occasionally, guitars, than watch some bloke with headphones on stood behind a mixing desk.

Hooky IS new order!!

We should celebrate Hooky's musical genius.

I wonder does our original poster realise that all the DJ-god-mixtapes he owns were done on protools by an engineer.....scratchy vynil through cheap preamps is great in a club, but tends to stick out like elephantitis of the penis on CD.
Dipshit.

I'd guess that's true in about 1% of all commercial releases and 0% of all unlicensed, recorded completely live out-the-booth CD's which are the very definition of a "mix-tape". Any DJ's using Protools, Abelton etc acknowledge this and don't ever claim that it was done using two decks and a mixer.
And talking about vinyl in this era is a bit of a red-herring anyway. Even Grandmaster Flash uses Traktor Scratch nowadays!

I don't reckon any of yer A-List, global DJs have used vinyl for over three years now. In fact Hooky is probably the only jock I've seen in the last few years who hasn't gone digital (he still uses CD's).
Didn't mean to come across like I condemn it, I was just trying to irritate the OP with some reality re: being/not being a DJ.
Don't think it matters if you admit to using ableton, I find it's time stretcher, while excellent, has a unique sound that stands out.
Never managed to mix entire tracks with it, I'm just shit.
Move over Ashlee Simpson. I hope family guy do a parody of this too ;)I'm sure he had a bottle of amylnitrate close at hand. Sadly, not for recreational purposes.
This isn't some 20-year-old punk kid - this guy went to Danceteria in the 80's, Paradise Garage, he owned the freaking Hacienda - he was *there*, and he knows what real DJ'ing is, so there's no excuse, really.
