Our Kid has just requested I download some Queen for him. Got me thinking how I manged to have such impeccable taste coming from a family of nerds. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the scene from Wayne's World as much as the next man but have managed to resist the temptation to replicate it thus far and I also quite dig 'Under Pressure' but I've managed to exist quite happily without feeling the need to own anything the uber-camp Mr Balsara has had a hand in.
As for the rest of the family only the women deserve any praise, my sister bought 'Organisation' 'L.F.O.' 'Killer' and 'White Lines' some 'Orb' and some people may consider Nirvana credible. My mum bought 'Souvenir' and some Bob Marley and I quite like The Carpenters. But why didn't they have Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye? As for the aul fella well he's seen Celine Dione in concert and brought us up on a diet of Buddy Holly and his Crickets.
So did anyone here manage to be descended from hippies of hip cats?
