It's two basses and a barritone.
PS: I'm quite sure we'd be excellent too :D
Obviously i'd be the best.... ahem![]()

And when you consider that the bass players in this band aren't me, Cambo and Ian, but HOOKY, ANDY ROURKE and MANI, don't you think they might actually sound really good? Maybe not to everyone's taste, but certainly a unique, memorable and individual sound.
Ok, that sounds reasonable. The only problem being that none of those have done anything memorable for nigh on twenty years. Sure, Hooky and Mani have had their moments, but they are from the remnants of bands that peaked a long long long time ago.
And speaking on Mani, its not like Primal Scream have done anything half decent since he has been in the band.

I never liked them much either, but the three drummers together were cohesive and talented... I was using it as an example of three similar instruments being used in the same band. ![]()

THREE BASS PLAYERS? who gives a fuck? unfortunately for some reason people in music only have a certain amount of time where they make stuff that is great, this seldom carries on into later life and i very much doubt hooky is going to be one of the few that comes up with something great with this new "band". i find the whole concept embarrassing. hows it going to work? are they going to take guest vocalists out on the road with them?i think the man has lost it, its just sad.
Three guitars are OK, despite the guitar being the most obnoxious unpleasant instrument ever. Three keyboard players is fine too. But basses oh no....."fuck up and go dum dum dum dum on root notes, cos bass isn't an instrument".
You know what....FUCK RIGHT OFF CUNTS!
BASS POWER BASS POWER BASS POWER
BASS IS SEX!!
Well I think that's why I've got callouses..

haha how bitter is this guy
bitter? not at all, just i love stuff your dad has done in the past, and like a lot of music fans you hate to see people you had a lot of respect for go onto do stuff that you feel is beneath them. like i said before, i hope im wrong and that this turns out to be great, but i will be surprised. i know im judging on something i havent heard yet, i spose its due to getting old, and i concede that i shouldnt. so i will leave it there for now.

I think this is the whole confusion... will it be three different sounding basses? or will it be three exactly the same? Either way it sounds like a mess in my head.... but then that could be why I'm no musician....![]()
Dont see why it couldnt work. It will certainly be better than most of the bands featured in NME and on XFM. Totally behind the guys on this one, might turn out to be one of the best supergroups ever - could be up there with Electronic
.Maybe Vince Clarke or Chris Lowe could join them or at the very least we could be treated to a decent dance remix.
