Okay, on the recent release of LWTUA , on the 7" label it says "FOR AHW" for obvious reasons. However, on the original release, it says " FOR ML".

Any idea who was "ML" ?????

Mark Johnson's "An ideal for living" (p 63) says:

The "FOR.ML" on the 7" A-side label is not a dedication to a mysterious "M.L.", but a piece of type specification inserted by Peter Saville to fill the box where "ASCAP" must appear on American singles. "I just wanted something that looked like something, but wasn't" (Peter Saville, September 1982).

But whether that's true or not, who knows?

Cheers Phil... I couldnt think of anybody associated with Joy Division who had the ML initials, and it appears there isnt..!

I've got that book somewhere...perhaps I should dig it out and read it again....
