I have devised what I think is a good introduction to New Order, for my friends. Anyone else have their own listing?

I've done several New Order mixtapes.....I usually do singles with albums tracks in chronological order, on a 120 min cassette tape...
ooh, yours is much longer than mine....... 
I actually just made this for someone! (but it was a standard cd so it would only fit 80 min or whatever generally goes on there) but i knew he had issues with the vocals, so i put lots of older stuff w. the more subdued vocals, dancey remixes, and instrumental versions on purpose and none of the non-single songs i myself am most fond of.... (his fave is actually the Blue M. Hardfloor Dub, go figure).
i think that would convince anyone to be a new order fan!
I pick the best of what others have done and play them regular
The £50 guys done on here last year are superb.

Michael, your track listing is good providing you tell your friend that's only one side of New Order - it's certainly slanted toward the guitar-based stuff (and Lonesome Tonight is virtually a country song).
The thing that distinguished New Order from any other guitar band of the 80's was their use of electronics and how they were usually a step ahead of what anyone else was doing.
You're not really giving him a clear picture without including stuff like Temptation, Blue Monday, The Perfect Kiss, and Bizarre Love Triangle. I know most people here consider those overplayed, but to someone new they'll be a revelation.
...you do get points for including Special, though. ;)

very good--but you left out jetstream...
The thing about NO is that the different sides of the band appeal to different people. My daughter absolutely loves Paradise and wants me to play it over and over again, while my wife enjoys the much loathed Shellshock.
One easy/lazy way would be to take your 3 or 4 faves off of each Retro disc (including the bonus disc) - that way you would have coverage of each facet of the band (singles, albums, remixes, live, rarities). That way the sound quality would be consistent and remastered as well.
