I'll be going later on to see ACR. I think there are some DJ's on too.

sounds like a laff. for the real tony wilson experience you'd need a satchel full of drugs, an Italian suit and a Jag to drive home in. listening to the same-old cultural arbiters banging on and on about how good it was in 1988 kind of misses the point though. or perhaps Wilson's apocryphal comments on Ian Curtis's untimely death have come full circle.

That's cos everyone knows they're playing Bar Cuba the same night.

Besides, no one reads Faclist anyways.

I volunteered to work it initially as a volunteer and then applied to be one the 200 'bright young things'* as an afterthought really. Lo and behold, I was accepted on both. I got the pre-event literature the other day and ACR are indeed on in the Urbis foyer on Saturday night and over on Cerysmatic Kevin Hewick has said he is appearing at / on some stage. I'm looking forward to it to be honest but haven't got a clue what to expect. The missus isn't too happy about me sleeping over at Urbis mind. She probably thinks I'm going to try to get into Gillian or something. Which I probably will after a few £1.70 Alpines in Sinclairs before ACR... *incidentally I am neither bright, nor particularly young.

Steve will probably be there now doing his stuff, but does anyone know whether you can get into ACR in Urbis,or do you need a pass? I've just been down there to leave some "neworderdisco" flyers, and the tent is up at the side of Urbis. It all started at 12,with Steve Coogan and Peter Saville, and when I walked past again ,Stuart Maconie was chatting to Mark Radciffe. It's on a rolling queue process, invite only but if you wait long enough, they'll invite you in the tent....or you can just watch it outside on big screen in the pissing rain. Steve and Gillian are on for an hour at 11pm,the it's John Cooper Clarke with Alan Wise and Stella Grundy at 12,then at 1am it's ACR in Urbis!

Oops just seen Jem's post,I could have asked her!

Well we weren't entirely sure either. If you're just going to watch ACR, you can just walk in. But before that you need a pass according to Alex.

We're not going now anyway, but give us a report back if you do. :)

It's great to see Gillian out in public again.I know it's the whole point of the TWE but it was frustrating that most of that hour was taken off The Other Two by students going on about the pointlessness of degrees.:banghead:

John Cooper Clarke is GOD! Can't believe Alan Wise used to own CYPRUS TAVERN,used to love going in there.

If I remember rightly, at some live Intastella performance, mebbe supporting World of Twist (I can't fucking remember), I'd love to be Into Stella.

BOOM BOOM!!

Ah bugger there's no live feed from it at moment.John Cooper Clarke,Alan Wise and Stella were well on form last night,it seemed to deteriorate into anarchy by the end. This bloke called Jim was out of his tree, saying to JCC,"I can't believe you're from Salford and you're fucking famous-ah"

No doubt Shaun Ryder's contribution later on raised the bar.. :beer2:
