hooky's Bass Tabs

Please, Please Help! I have been looking for Bass tabs of Peter Hook, I an particularly after any from the GET READY album, or both Monaco's albums. If anyone knows where I can get the or buy them, I will be eternally greatfull.

That okay mate, I hope someone can help, I've been a fan since I was 15 (now 26) and only recently have I been inspired to learn to play the bass. Hooky is the best bass player I have ever heard or seen!

Well, I can play 'em all (or as close to as a hack like me can get), but I find writing down the tabs is a fookin' nightmarishly slow and tedious process. Is/are there any particular track/s you are interested in? I can have a go at doing a tab for one or two songs at a time if that helps.... CTB

tabs for hooky's bass? i think they're pretty easy to figure out...i you don't even need a bass guitar half the time cuz he plays so high on the fret board. that said...what you should really be inquiring about is how to figure out the chords to NO songs! i for the life of me cannot pick out chords by ear (unless it's pretty obvious)

Hello, new here, also bass player. Would be very grateful if anyone of you guys would tab the bass-solo in Crystal, been trying to figure it out for sometime but I'm getting nowhere! It's in my opinion one of his best pieces, would be very educational to study how he plays it, I'm aiming at developing a similar playing style to Hooky's you see ;). But any good bass tab for any NO song is appreciated, of course.

I can't for the life of me see why you'd need tabs. They're all pretty simple - just work 'em out by trial and error by playing along - on guitar or bass!

Not all of us have the the experience or talent to pick out songs just like that mate!

Well that's certainly true, but then again, working out Hooky's riff's was a big help to me in learning how to translate what I hear into what I play. Tips:

1. learn the Dm and Am scales, especially how they fit in and around Hooky's usual part of the neck.
2. Tune the damn plank or you'll lose every time.
3. play the tune from a DIGITAL source of a STUDIO recording, it's no use learning to play along with some tune that's 5% off speed recorded at a gig where they were all tuned to analogue synths that had freaked out in the heat. 4 Chorus pedal OFF until you get they notes together.
4. if you have access to software like acid or ableton live, use these to slow the riff down without losing pitch, then even the most elusive note will be around long enough to be found by trial and error.
5. It's probably best not to try and work out the run at the end of TPK straight away, start simple.

OK, I've done my best to tab Hooky's solo in Crystal, please have a look at it and help me improve it!
