Are you sure Hook plays guitar on Atrocity Exhibition? Seems unlikely......I don't think he even knows how to play a 6 string? Do you have a reference for that claim?

Only song I know for certain that Hooky played a guitar on during the JD era is The Sound Of Music(he was playing one live on the HATYM vid while Bernard was playing bass and I've seen JD photos where Hooky and Bernard were playing guitar and bass respectively). In NO he only played one during live outings of Confusion as far as I'm aware, and possibly one of the acoustic guitars on Don't Do It.

As Phil says, the video at the start of HATYM shows Hooky playing guitar, we know they didn't play Sound of Music at that gig. Also on same video is them playing Sound of Music with Hooky on guitar.
Actually "No Holiday", you wonder why people think you are a twat then come out with a comment questioning whether Hooky can even play a six-string...... have you no idea how many songs are played on six string bass? Doofus.
Bernard also said in an interview to Rip & Burn magazine that he and Hooky swapped instruments on "Atrocity Exhibition".
The track Murder seemed out of place when it was released, coming after Thieves Like Us and before Lowlife. Whose idea was it?Bernard Occasionally through the decades me and Hooky swap instruments and I play bass and he plays guitar. We did it on Atrocity Exhibition on Closer. And Murder was another one. We'd been taking acid and we used samples from different films.

Thanks Philip and One Brain, much appreciated. The reason I suspect that Hooky played one of the acoustics on Don't Do It was when Pottsy was selling off some of Hooky's gear on eBay.

It's always perplexed me...maybe because I heard a live version before the recorded one.

That was a Washburn 12 string. I really wish I'd gone for that now.
