Power Corruption & Lies out of print

I was looking online at Amazon.com and noticed that PCL was only listed to buy as used....I'm sure the rest will follow soon...

Typical. The record company takes the originals out of print to clear the boards for remasters, etc.

Those old CDs are going to be worth alot on eBay since they are OOP... buy up all you can find.

And don't buy any still around, they will never be worth anything....ever! More to the point, who hasn't got the albums by now?

i've got two of the factory release cds.

despite wanting to be a completist i do not own a single london records re-released cd of any of the albums

The 2005 reissued Japanese edition of the CD (Power Corruption & Lies) is still available on amazon.co.jp (Japanese Amazon site) , although the 1993 and 2000 reissues are apparently out of print.

The 2008 reissue (in Japanese it's listed as 'collector's edition) is marked as available to pre-order, as it's not out until October.

Too right. The London CD reissues were terrible, they looked like pirate copies. When I started buying the albums on CD in the 90s I bought all the Qwest versions on import. They looked so much better, even PC&L and Brotherhood which had the band's name and album title plastered on the cover.

Absolutely.

If anything, the ones worth hanging onto will be the 1986 Factory CDs.

Especially if you've got a "car carry case" or two

i liked my US pressing of PCL, because it had 'blue monday' and 'the beach' on it..

i did end up finding the cool floppy-disc case UK version, but wondered why those tracks were missing...

also, the Canadian CD of 'brotherhood' had 2 extra tracks, 'state of the nation', and 'bizarre love triangle(shep pettibone mix)' on it...and the US one didn't..

however, i would think the limited metallic cover version would be worth more than the car carry case?

i have one of the metal look sleeved ones, just assumed the car carry case had got lost

i found a japan release at cd universe from 1983, is that any good/

its too much though, like 40 frikin bucks.

New Order CDs didn't even exist yet in 1983...

how about everything factory, some handled by NO, Rob, Mr W etc all mint, even a bit of warsaw stuff! they are cluttering up my attic! no good up there!

forgot to add they are all vinyl & cassette ...don't like cd's (shit!)

the vinyl copies of the limited sleeve i have both have cat no fac 150 sp, how come the cd doesn't have the sp bit?

i haven't looked at the case in a while, but if i remember correctly, it was a shiny cardboard material (similar to movement and low-life, not as flimsy as the pcl car case). for whatever reason, i had the most difficult time acquiring this car case.
