New Order/Joy Division Exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

I played a concert up in Cleveland this weekend, and decided to go see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as I had never been there.

To my surprise, there was a small JD/NO exhibit!

It featured Ian's handwritten lyrics to LWTUA, one of Hooky's Bass guitars with a letter from Hooky.....a bunch of old tickets for New Order gigs and a very cool poster for the LA 87 New Order gig, Peter Saville's color proof for the PCL cover, a acoustic guitar used by Barney on Technique, a handwritten letter from Barney promising to pay back a small loan to Rob Gretton..

And, what was coolest to me, they had Bernard Sumner's handwritten lyrics to Blue Monday and Leave Me Alone.

The Blue Monday lyric sheet is a bit different from the final lyrics on the recording....apparently Barney originally titled the song "You Stand There" and there were some extra lyrics at the end such as "We all need our heroes".

Small but very cool. Everything in the exhibit was donated by David Sultan.

They had some other cool stuff as well. I was pretty excited to see David Bowie's actual 1976 Thin White Duke tour outfit.

Thats amazing! I hope to see this exhibit at one point.

You are not allowed to take photos, sadly. Otherwise I would have! Although now that I come to think of it, I could have taken some photos with my cell phone...

Looks like i'm gonna have to request tickets next time I come to Cleveland. Although Joy Division nor New Order are inductees in the hall of fame yet, are they?
