Can we petition Warners?
Archived54 replies · 2,852 views
Is there a way or precedent when common people (fans) can buy stockshares of an artist's backcatalogue? Is it possible to set up a company and maybe try to get hold of New Order's entire backcatalgoue including all tapes possessed by London.
I'll buy some shares sureley and then will calculate my dividends from PROPER releases.

For the petition to work we should send some graphs to Warners.
No, sending Warners some graphs wouldn't give a strong enough signal. You will need to print some really BIG graphs, then put them on placards. Arrange a protest march outside the Warners head office, ideally in the form of a flash-mob to maximise media interest (maybe get everyone to dress as Hooky and wear a bass guitar reaaaally low), then demand to see the CEO, and present him with a bound copy of your graphs
while the crowd chant "What do we want? Really good bonus discs. When do we want them? Now.)
That should do it.

If you a media coverage, you a public bonfire when everybody who is disgusted with the product, would bring their CDs and then at once publicly cremate them in a fire in the front of the Warner's office.
You really want to get onto Mojo (or is it Uncut, can't remember) magazine too, they've given the remastered albums 4 or 5 stars, people might read the reviews and buy the albums and might enjoy them and not know the truth, which can be seen clearly on the graphs. Some people eh? Maybe listen to the Radio 2 interviews again and listen to what is said about what has happened to the masters. Can someone put some graphs up of the broadcasts?
Anyone read the bit about how Bernard wearing a denim jacket on Top Of The Pops to perform Blue Monday was apparently influenced by Shakin Stevens, fantastic stuff.

Yeah, because why would people bitch about crappy, glitchy New Order music releases on a New Order forum?
We should just keep our opinions to ourselves, as these forums are for discussing Sumner's confederate flag and ian curtis' tombstone....
Look at the world wide picture, gadge. There is more millage in discussing tombstone teeth, and their inadvertent overbite..Ask any dentist about goofy cunt's needs...You won't tho, will you? I bet you don't give a rat's arse about them.
I know I don't.

Fucking yawn.
Fact is there's an arrogant expectation that we'd be expected to fork out for this fucking shit.
Fact is the remasters are fucking shit.
And that's fucking shit.
You hopeless bell-end. Do what an awful lot of other people (including me) who frequent this site are doing and reject said "arrogant expectation" and simply don't fucking buy them.
You fucking pointless rimlicker. That's what I've done. Cunt.

It's in Mojo or Uncut this month, I think the quote is from Gillian. Cheer up, the 7 tracks from Sirens will be out soon.

I havnae been given the power to moderate this forum mate, so I will pass the buck to Tim and Nic. I would have banned them both for a week and told them to settle their squabbles by pm.....
Having met them both I'd say they'd make a good couple ![]()

Sounds like a job for Dom Joly. Is he he a New Order fan? Does he want the gig?
Remember to start the letter with "why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why" like Points of View letters in the 70s.

Is that true Shug?
This was only meant as a bit of friendly banter - I call my Dad a cunt all the time, but having read that again, it does sound rather harsh

No.
But you and Frads would make a lovely couple ;)
Was a bit on radio four today about 'the loudness wars'. Full of Metallica fans complaining about the infamous bad mastering of their current album. Apparently they are organising a petition to get it remastered, who'd have thunk it?
Even if complaining about these NO reissues is futile, surely its part of a general backlash against crappy mastering? Crappy mastering is killing music!
Anyway surely its worth a try? rather than either buying crap or not buying anything some of us would quite like to have a third option - buying GOOD reissues.
Its probably the last chance for it, even if some SACD type format replaces cd and they try to sell us the stuff all over again, NO's mastertapes will probably have been destroyed by then by the team of partially trained chimpanzees WB clearly employ as mastering engineers (they work cheap, just a few pounds of bananas a week).

Surely there is nothing gayer than being a moderator on these forums.
Except being called "Emile", natchy.

Banana Republic:p
Unfortunately, I will buy said "remasters".
Reason 1: My NO CD collection stolen/lost circa late 2006. ![]()
Reason 2: I am an American cunt who will be a sucker for anything Rhino(plasty)/LonDON will send our way.
Reason 3: Unlike the U.K., there is NO bargain bin here, either it sells or it's off the shelf for good.
Roll on 11/11, I guess ![]()
yeah, i know its snap, crackle, pop..
but send a few hundred boxes of these to warners..

you could get a free remastered copy in every box!!!!!!!!!!!
