Was there only me that watched this and was staggered that everything was "I", "me" and "everyone else"?

Blue Monday was "his" arrangement of "his" favourite records of the time! Seem to recall hearing that Steve spent days programming that drum pattern.

Love they guy but it was ill advised going on this - they're New Order songs NOT his. Unless the "Other three" did nothing all this time in which case bring on his next solo project.

 He may be getting on but it was a treat nonetheless. With all the new proposed albums shuffling around for all the bands I still follow, it could be an exciting next few years. :shades:

Thanks Shug! Until the torrent winds its way out, the Tube videos are much appreciated. :D

in our current drought, this is massive news for any of us here.

and the new song sounds brilliant, just acoustic... can't wait to hear the single of it. he has quite a crew around him, can't go wrong.

That's good, interesting how much the lead line Phil is playing sounds like a Hooky bass line.

Am I the only one that thought it was pish? :confused2:

Thanks Shug mate - really enjoyed the new song. Thought the performance was a bit weak on the old tracks but much better on "Sink or Swim". Maybe Barney could concentrate more on his singing without the guitar to worry about on the new track (or maybe he made more effort on his new track).

Thanks Shug for posting that.

I thought Stephen was going to be involved with Bad luitenant as well but Barney didnt mention him in the line up...:confused2:

this is my first approach to the lyrics, feel free to add/correct anything:

what you doing with that stupid little girl? stop the fooling don't you know is gonna hurt? when she leaves you and you gave all you could give you'll be hurting for the one you should be with

how are you gonna deal with this? how many times before you sleep? you made a ? with a kiss now you're the new name on her lips this is the real thing at your door big wave breaking on the shore are you gonna sink or swim? hold on tight, don't fall in

what you doing with that stupid little girl? stop the fooling don't you know is gonna hurt? when she leaves you and you gave all you could give you'll be hurting for the one you should be with

jesus, save this heart of gold take the time to save her soul will he bend or will he crack? save this ? from her ? he's not aware of anything sure it's summer follow spring doesn't know where he's comming from reaching perfection takes too long yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

hey what you doing? you've got so much to live for the world is turning until it can't turn anymore this fire is burning, it will burn forevermore so what you doing with that stupid little girl? stop the fooling don't you know is gonna hurt? when she leaves you and you gave all you could give you'll be hurting for the one you should be with

This song is really good how could people not like it, I think I listened to this song about 20 times and I still can't get enought of it and this is not even a studio version, imagine how good it is going to sound whe we get the original version.

It's nice to hear from him again but the show overall was hardly brilliant.

Barney always does seem to have that little bit of attitude that New Order was holding him back from greatness. Whatever. I wonder how many songs he will write for Bad Lt. since the other guy will be writing songs also, it sounds like a similar set up to Monaco. At least Phil is currently employed.

I did not get that "me me me" vibe as much as you did. I think that he usually did the arrangement (Debbie Curtis did say that Barney was the one usually doing the arrangements on JD songs so I presume he did the same with NO) and that the programming was something else. It's two different things I believe. He was the leader of the band like Ian was the leader of Joy Division, so his input was strong in regards to influencing the sound.

It might be also his style of talking without really meaning that everything was his. Like he said "his" song when the interviewer asked about "Love Will Tear Us Apart". I highly doubt he really thinks that's HIS song. He's part of the song writing team so he just says it's his. I think it's just his style of wording really.

I hope someone will torrent this soon. If not, I'm hoping some generous soul will share the DVD among us. Please please please?

I thought 'Bernard unplugged' sounded like a horrible idea, but it was.. ok.

The new song is good.

I also thought it very 'me, me me'. Lets be fair the reason NO songs sound do great is mainly down to the music, they are not going to stand the test of an accoustic set up.

The main problem for me with the show is that Barney can't remember anying that may be interesting. Unless I misunderstood even his explanation of EGG sounded absolute bollocks.

As for the 'new song' I'm sure we all know how this will sound once produced - New Order / Electonic at their worst.

Sorry, but its just not for me, me and me.

The bare new song sounds good, but I can't comment until I hear the end result. Barney have lost his touch unfortunately and I am doubting it will sound very good at the end. Let's just hope for the best.

By the way, I love your avatar. Is there a bigger picture of it somewhere that I can download?

I don't think BS is looking too healthy!

revised 2nd last verse did the others too but felt like I was focusing too much on how unhealthy he looked

purely selfish - want to know that he'll be around long enough to write some more good songs - I don't think this is one of them but may be quite 'catchy' in its final format and at least it's something new.

jesus, save this heart of gold? take the time to save his soul will he bend or will he crack? save him from a heart attack he's not aware of anything sure it's sumner's saggy springs doesn't know where he's coming from reaching perfection takes too long yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I am new here and I wanted to let you know that all the previous episodes of Songbook are available for download on http://thebox.bz and I expect that the episode with Bernard will be uploaded there immediately after it airs.

Cheers for the tip. It's just finished downloading and I found Pop and Fashion on there as well :thumb:

As for the new song, again cringeworthy lyrics but I'll reserve judgement on the song until we've heard the finished article. First impression shite though
