You are right it is a very good song.

So you lot loved Miracel Cure?

No, that was shit.

I liked both of the songs, I am really digging sink or Swim, Miracle Cure was a good song too.

Nah, qualidee pop song - what Barney does best. Add a Hooky bass line in there and you would have a classic New Order single. The Radiant Radio Mix is a great bit of electronic pop as are most of the other mixes on the CD single.

Fair play to Bernard really.... we've had Freebass mooted for fucking ever and nothing has come to pass whereas Barney's presented us with a new tune complete with some lyrics. I'm not knocking Hooky but even he must be realising how ridiculous the Freebass situation is starting to look. Revenge took a year to knock out their album, Monaco took three but Freebass are well into half a decade and from the sounds of interview quotes it's still pretty half-baked. Lots of instrumentals but no lyrics is all we've been told.

We live in a day and age where releasing music far simpler than it ever was so I'm not really sure why we haven't seen something like a digital EP on iTunes yet. Nobody's necessarily expecting a physical CD in the shops or owt. Too much to ask? Freebass is almost five years old with nothing to publicly show which suggests they don't give a shit. Totally their prerogative of course but it shouldn't be continually mooted cos it really doesn't look like it's going to happen this side of 2010.

I do like Sink or Swim but it sounds like it's unfinished as the "yeah yeahs" probably cover up a lack of lyrics that could feature in the final mix. I'm sure the finished product will be a good tune but slated because it's simply not New Order.

No change there then

I was thinking about this a little bit when I was having a poo earlier.

It's quite like Barney these days to put out the shittest single from the album out first. I'm basing this argument entirely on the release of Krafty, easily the worst single from Sirens...

Soooo I reckon there's a good album in this lot.

I like the new song, and now having listened to the Rambo & Leroy ep, actually find myself with high hopes for any recorded music from the group currently known as Bad Lootenant or however you want to spell it.

If you've not listened to their ep, check it all you Doves fans. Good stuff imho. Cheers.

Who's Joe anyways....

Obviously it will sound different not acoustic.

But it's a good catchy song.

GAWI sounds great.. let's say that my will to have a New Order acoustic album grown a little ;)

But BLT with Doves was even better ;)

I had to come out of the wood work again just to say thanks for putting this up. I really enjoyed this, especially the acoustic performances. I thought the lyrics for Sink & Swim where pretty much shit, but the melody is good. It sounds like a WFTSC tune, but I still like it. The interview bits were good too, but a bit silly at times.

Thanks Shug

I love you :hat:

Is it about Ronnie Wood I wonder?

Yes, Bernard keeps putting out new music, so he writes what, one song per year since 2005??

Frankly I believe, it's better for everyone to get back to their own projects: Hooky to Monaco & Bernard to Electronic (this time, really electronic, not guitar shit like on Twisted Tenderness).

These guys don't have to prove anything at this point, nor realistically should much be expected.

Bernard remains a paradox. Not sure everything he says in interviews is on the level, it is just the way he is, he doesn't ever seem that comfortable in that situation. When a new album is released and how many songs Bernard actually writes since he implies that Rambo & Leroy are doing alot of the work also... we will see. If Bernard gets inspired and has fun, good. Wait and see, and don't get too excited.

Has it been said if Bad Lt. has a record deal yet?

It's not as good as Road To Ruin, but it's definitely a grower, cannae wait for the album, but having listened to Barney in the past, it wouldnae surprise me if the album isnae out for a while yet. We've also been promised gigs (both New Order and Electronic) in the past and nothing surfaced, I hope I am proved wrong this time, nothing like a gig or three to look forward to :thumb:

Nice to see Bernard around again and also Phil.

Miss New Order!!!

Aye, watching this, plus the realistaion that Re: Order are playing this week has given my NO focus a bit of a boost... Thanks to Shug for the txt about this, otherwise I'd never have come across it - Barney on Sky Arts - who'd have thunk it? Wasn't too key on the idea for Bad Lieutenant when it surfaced a while ago but seeing/hearing them playing and Barney obviously enthusiastic about what he's doing, even to the extent of talking about playing live... Bring it on :thumb:

I think the reason Steve was not there because it was an acoustic sessions, so I guess they didn't need Steve for drumming but I think he is in the band because they need a drummer.

He hasn't worn that kind of stuff in years (decades?) anyway so I don't really care. He's still got a great voice and that's what matters. :thumb: :)

ShugZV there are no words to describe the amount of gratitude I have to you for uploading this vid. Thank you so much mate. This interview is the most candid I've seen of Barney and I would love to own it on DVD. Can you or anyone else PLEASE tell me if this is officially available on DVD anywhere and if so what is the title and where can I buy it?

Thanks :)

can anyone share a dvd-r copy of this interview/show please?

we can read. we don't have your dvd.

so cut it out. i keep thinking someone actually posted something interesting here, like a link to the new lp.

basic forum etiquette 101 - you've bumped it twice now... you'd be banned in most forums.

i read it the first time, and so will everyone else.

and, at this point, even if i had the dvd, you are getting so annoying i wouldn't share it.

Why not suggest another "nazis name" as they are a three-piece again(Phil, Steve & Barney)? :deal:

Miricle Cure was good music with bad lyrics, but I still liked it. The new song is boring in the accoustic version... maybe better with synths, drum machine and tele-prompter?
