Some weird and wonderful events on at that venue. Love the fact you can book tickets to see "Dave" in April 2010. Who the fook is Dave?

I've just booked four tickets, I've got the second row in the second section. I had originally got middle row in the front section but my dongle lost it's signal - grrr!

Reet, looks like I'd better get planniing. Reckon arrive on the day of the gig and have a day or two after for touristy stuff.

Jobs a good un! :thumb:

You gone for the more expensive tickets?

It's general admission downstairs, no?

I just went for Category 1 rather than 2. It showed a flashing thing in the seating areas. Bloody hell, I hope I've not booked seats and it's standing!

i'll need seats as lyn will be going too will need two - want to see if you can swap the other two for general & give me your two?

Category 2, the 34 Euro ones, are downstairs, where it's standing!

I relented and bought a ticket. You know, just in case. :uhoh:

OK Hibs, if you could get 2 standing and I'll swap you. The other 2 claimants of my tickets will have to sit.

Besides, the album might well be awful yet (look at the last two Electronic albums :evil4: )

Be interesting to see how many Yookay gigs they do though. And what size venues.

I have to keep reminding myself 'this is not New Order, and I really shouldn't be that arsed.' :uhoh:

I wouldn't exactly call the 2nd and 3rd Electronic albums awful...maybe I'm a bit biassed as a fan, but those two albums certainly aren't as bad as some of the non-NO related pop mainstream stuff out there.

If they come to Japan, I'd be interested, but I'll be very busy next year. I'm aware Hooky came to Japan for the Summer Sonic rock festival as a DJ back in 2007. (I couldn't go to the festival, though.)

hmm, has seats downstairs in that pic. & a mezzanine & a balcony level

going for 2 seats can get mezzanine & the view looks much better there, may well do this instead then, soz!

you could probably do the old switcheroonee if it is standing downstairs anyway

There weren't seats when New Order played there.

Still seems to be GA downstairs anyhoo, if you checkout Nickos's second link.

yeah tried there just to see & it said orchestra standing, or something like that.

is it possible to pull the brixton academy style swap - meet in bar & get in downstairs with friends who are already inside's tickets?

Are they gonna fill a venue that size? In Glasgow I reckon they'd be good for at the very best, 500-600 people unless this album is something special which, as we all know, it wont be. Electronic couldn't manage to sell out two nights at the Barras when they played at the height of their (relatively substantial) success.

Al, have you ever heard the story about the time I NEARLY saw New Order in Paris?....;)

i am so down for this.

anybody else from the US thinking of going?

Gotta check on my personal leave balance... but hell, yeah. Air fare & hotels are cheaper that time of year- a plus.

They'll remove the sits downstairs for the festival at the Olympia, as they usually do for this kind of events… anyway they'll be some 'moves' between the sets so buy the cheapest ticket except if you want to be sure to have a sit

Paris on a Wednesday night?

I seem to have lost interest.

Er, yes. I didn't want to mention it. I remember Johan on the phone saying you hadn't taken your guest-list wondering where the fack you were!!

Electronic only played one night at the Barras. It was a Monday in December and was -6 outside. It was facking mobbed though!! I caught a train straight back to London around midnight. I'd been up seeing a berd cos ACR played King Tut's the very same weekend.

Bet the guest list was better than Saturday nights which was "someone".

...ok - I've never heard them, will probably never buy anything by them, and I just this weekend gone protested to my brother that I wasn't interested, but for some reason I've just bought a ticket!....

Are you sure it was only one night? I've got it in my head it was two. And yep, it was mobbed, but defineately not a sell out as my burd at the time decided to come at the last minute cos there were still tickets on the door.

A popular chant on the night was

'Lets all have a barney Lets all have a barney Na na na na OOOFT Na na na na OOOFT'

That Glaswegian humour eh? Cracks me up every time. And at least 60% of the crowd were wearing Smiths t-shirts. :nonono:

That was my first ever New Order related gig that was.

That's was a tough read, google translation I presume? Anyway a lot of interesting stuff and I'm looking forward to the album a lot more now. I think I'll wait to hear until I buy it this time. :)

Dave is a singer from Netherland very well known in France since the seventies(he speaks and sings in french).

No, that's pretty much how Barney speaks these days. He reads a lot of the great French intellectuals, and it shows.

It's no accident that he's debuting the band in Paris, you know.
