I might fly back to Liverpool too. £30-ish, and get to spend most of the day in Paris, rather than a 9am back to Manchester.
I know flying is easier and quicker, but I've never been on the Eurostar and it's on my 'Things to do' list.

I am with Jem about the Eurostar and it will save on taxi costs etc as (I think) it puts you right in the centre... and I might not be travelling from Manchester anyway

bar champs elysees/ arc de triomphe bar would remove one of those pesky steps in between bars. & don't forget pere lachaise the cemetary

I agree, I'd enjoy getting lashed up on the Eurostar, but, afterall, it is just a train, and it does just go under a tunnel! That, combined with a 2.5 hour train journey to London beforehand, plus travelling to Manchester first, kinda makes my mind up!
Not worried about places to sleep but to drink. No french fooking wine this time again! Bad remembrance from Paris 2002

I've ordered a ticket but whether I'll manage to go is another thing cos we're not allowed time off during the first five working days of each month. Someone suggested taking the TGV and just go there and back in one night, but it is still a couple hours to get there. And my experience with gigs near home is not a good one :( I'll just have a do a UK one, that's never been a problem :)

Wednesday: Travelling up on the 12:29 - 15:30 Thursday: Travelling back on the 11:13 - 12:29
60 quid return, not bad, and only two half-days off! :)
not liking the eurostar site times me out after 30 seconds or so & then when re-enter details says the tickets will be available from august some time - despite having them underlined in the calendar as available!

Good location. We stopped at the Ibis near there, on La Fayette, for New Order in 2001.
I'm heading out on the 9am, back on the same train as Nickos.
I now have gig ticket booked and myself and Ess are booking our eurostar together next weekend when she's down, but we're getting an early on the Weds coming back Saturday (i think that's what we agreed)
The last time I was in Paris (2006) I got us tear gassed by the French Police after I got in an altercation, but am sure they don't remember me so we'll be ok!
