Anyone got this?
Found it rooting through some old tapes while trying to locate a track listing for some very unusual FeelEveryBeat remixes!
Cant find an awful lot on the web about it, got a new order and joydivision track on it (turn the heater on, transmission) But how did NewOrder get this into a top 20!! isnt it a cover of the Keith Hudson track recorded as a tribute to Ian ?
hoping rather wistfully its rare but i somehow doubt it!!!

Might be rare - most of those things were given away on the front of children's comics - (yeah, I buy them if New Order are featured - satisfied?) so perhaps not many adults have them

Actually, that's a point - how many of us would swallow our pride and go into a shop to buy 'Bunty Comic' if it had an interview with Gillian in it?

Let's see, don't know how odd this is, but I've the Discreet Campaigns cassette that has a rough instrumental version of Sunrise, as well as a track by Durutti Column Weakness And Fever, as well as some other bands of the period, such as Eyeless In Gaza, The Wake, Dif Juz, Chris And Cosey, etc....
Also, the US musician magazine Music Technology, the June 89 issue, with the Order on the cover, and a great Steven Morris interview. I remember thinking when I saw that on the newstand "bloody hell......what's up with that?" and bought it right away.
By thinking quickly, these two items must correspond to the "odd New Order related item that I own" description:
A promo tape cassette of The Beat Club's Security, "featuring New Order's Bernard Sumner";
The 12" single of Technotronic's Rockin' Over The Beat, "featuring the Bernard Sumner Rockin' Over Manchester Remixes".

I've been listening to this tape in the car for the last few days (whilst my CD changer is away being fixed) and it's brilliant. Not a duff track on it. I'll have to try and persuade Rocket to put it on CD for me (hint, hint!!)

I bought a 1986 copy of Melody Maker off ebay for 10 notes just last week solely cos it had a review of New Order live in Montreal in it, and it's a review I couldn't find in my collection anywhere.
I once bought a pair of basketball(!) boots, and those Nike socks which had the word horizontally around the top, bordered by two thick lines, just cos Barney wore the same apparel at Finsbury 87. I already had the baggy shorts, so didn't need to go out and get a new pair of those. God, I thought I looked cool for about 4 days after that.

I think ive got a cassette single of electroset how does it feel?
and I've got the cd single of elctroset...bought just because it was a cover of the order...
I also picked up the factory tape...someone mentioned this in another thread a while back...again...just because of the order connection...
and I once purchased an ad out of a magazine, something about new order thanking people... on ebay...I'll have to scan it and put it up...or would that be copyright infringement???
Nothing apart from most magazines including all those from SOUNDS and NME with free casettes which i NEVER play. Got the NEW ORDER PUZZLE and the matches from DRY 201. Odd 3 inch CDS from JAPAN,books/7 inch single then same again in CD/better Book.Kept every magazine in pristine condition though and not just cut out the articles so i would not lose them.Trouble is i don't throw any mags away so have aprox 800 mags,only a few have ORDER or related items but like to collect sets.Now managed to stop buying some.With the internet you can view most stuff easily without it taking over your house! :D

Well, it's not all that different from the original track, but you have to give Barney some credut -- I think the remixes are good.
But of course, if you loathe the Technotronic stuff from that era, there is no way you will like it, Barney or not! :)

Wow, I had forgotten about that one.
I have it on a white label 12", way before it was officially released as a single. Therefore I only have one or two versions of it (I know the single has several remixes on it).
I remember when I heard that the first time -- I was at a DJ record shop (when I liked to think I was an amateur DJ) and I was checking out the new releases for the week, and suddenly, the guy at the front desk (they had mixing tables next to the cashier, which these places usually have) put that record on and I jumped 10 feet up when I realized it was a techno version of Blue Monday.
It took 10 secs and I had the record in my hands.

Yeah, Montreal, supported by the Bodines. Can't remember the venue but it was in Melody Maker, Dec 86 so must've been part of the Canada/US tour they'd just done. Can't actually find it listed on the gigs listing here, or at Waterrat's. I'll dig out the review from home.. .

Just thought - one of the (now) rarer N.O./J.D. related items I've got is my Hacienda membership card! Also several DJ white labels, which a friend of mine insists on buying and giving to me as prezzies. As you fcan imagine, he's my best mate!
I bought factory badge FAC221 (which I wore to 24HPP) and the factory wall calendar. Does watching Topranko count (Tony Wilson as the presenter)? There was also the time I bought NME or similar as it had stickers to go with Technique which I thought was cool! But surely the weirdest thing anyone bought NO related was anything by Revenge!
Those NME played cards were quite obscure! remember them?

I've got that somewhere also. Got it for similar reason.
I also used to quite like the Flatmates. They put their home phone number on thier record sleeves, now thats what I call Indie.
