Esteamed Author , ex new order bassking and night club owner Peter Hook revealed in Oxford last night (approx 1805, g.m.t.) that he was to write a book on joy division, its going to be better than the cut andpaste stuff that is all around,, ive got the story in me memory banks , just got to write it,, mr hook revealed that the "hand" on the inside cover of unknown pleaseures belonged to band manager Rob gretton .peter hook was bass player in manchester based joy division.
I remember nothing.

Saville was also presented with a newspaper clipping of some strange photograph of a hand reaching for a door handle, which was used on the inside cover ("This is the way, step inside."). He was less than happy, some years later, when he was made aware that this was actually a well-known shot by Ralph Gibson.
Methinks someone has taken Tony Wilson's philosophy "when you have to choose between the truth and legend, print the legend" a little too close to heart. I bought the Hacienda book because I expect it to be a fun read, but I DON'T expect it to be accurate. I would hope if Hooky is going to write about JD he'd do it in conjunction with someone who can verify facts and challenge him on the murky finer points that have become hazy memory, but did not in fact happen (or happen the way they were remembered).
Do we honestly need another Joy Division book? I'd rather read an all-encompassing memoir that includes New Order, which took up 25 years of his life (as opposed to 3).
I guesse with the old hand he was getting mixed up with the begining of the vid for Love will tear us apart,which is similar in style..i got anton to sign my control book at the end rather than the front cos i realy thought that would be the last thing on joy division,, the end? ,, yes the end,, over to you hooky..

Hooky's Publicist: Now remember 'ooky, you're writting a Joy Division book next year, so don't go blabbing on in that q&a or you will spoil the lot. Keep it simple mate, "don't know" or, "can't remember"
