Hooky played "Pictures In My Mind" tonight.

Feel silly yet, crowd?

We're all too old to make shit up.

One unreleased New Order, one unreleased Joy Division (presumably aforementioned Pictures?), a couple of Freebass songs, Monaco, lots of Joy Division songs, Blue Monday and Dreams Never End amongst others...

And, no, I don't feel silly... :p

What was the setlist?

The bit you made up was the story about Steve giving someone the tape. The song is real. And not that bad.

To all you disbelievers, enough said. You can pull the dagger out of my back now!

So who now should we sacrifice, oh righteous one?

not overly bothered. Never doubted it was real. Just a bit saddened if anything that a song that had been buried (presumably for reasons of quality) resurfaced tonight for shock value. These boards are read too much by Mr Hook, i suspect.

I wanna hear 'Don't do it'.

So, any actual interesting information about the song/performance? ... instead of bitching and sniping.

Did they play Sink or Swim? Age of Consent on the setlist again?

Didnt doubt the song existed,it was the 'Steve says dont let anyone hear it'pish and 'we're uber fans'nonsense.

Anyway Darkmong, now that you (and yer buddy) have re surfaced and feeling all dandy, remember this?

I know i said in yer own time...

Wonder if Hooky will play "Patience of a saint", and if he does read these boards that'd make it even more ironic.

As the starter of "that" original Joy Division thread I think this is incredibly funny !

I feel like I have influenced Hooky's setlist - no less.

...Hooky does have a sense of humour (he must have been laughing his socks off reading those original threads).

I remember getting so much flack on here just for opening the subject up for discussion. At least now I feel a little bit vindicated - nice one Hooky !

A fooking cracking night had by all. I filmed about half the set.Got SISTER & BROTHER (WFTSC outtake) and ROWETTA singing ATMOSPHERE and INSIGHT. Alas I only got half of PICTURES before my memory card give up on me. I'll post it later folks!

I was lucky enough to be there, what a fucking gig, venue toosmall and too loud but great, strange mix of punters lots of confused teenagers who only woke up when hooky covered tthe killers shadowplaY ;) and lots of oldsters like me loving it.

atmosphere seemed to have been slowed down, sister and brother what new order era is that from??

Highlight apart from the new jd song was darkstar which was absolutely awesome if thats the sign of things to come then we have hope!!

ha ha ha, the footage at the bottom of that article was taken by someone stood right behind us, alex is right in the middle of the picture

have to say I thought Howard marks looked like David Dickinson first song had him reading from a cribb sheet, no autocues at this gig (though there was a music stand stage left) before someone else took over on vocals (Gary?)

weirdest moment was Rowetta singing atmosphere, after hearing it with Ian's voice for all these years to have female vocals took some getting used to

sister & brother was introduced as one of Hooky's favourite new order songs & he didn't know why they never played it had us stumped on what it was til he got to the chorus

the JD songs sounded the best, though Ceremony, Sunrise & DNE also stood out

Ceremony was blinding. Hooky did a cracking job throughout. Both of them, in fact. Paul gets the job done, and I'm not just saying that cos I fancy his mate.

Put her down, Colin

Yes some bemused looks from the bright young things.

Sister + Brother was recorded for Waiting for the Siren's Call. It's one of the six(?) tracks that were supposed to be on the next album.

I am so happy that Alex was around, more chance to download a decent sound quality file from this gig. The video quality below is so crap!

So.....when are all of the people who bitched to no end about Bad Lieutenant doing 2 New Order songs and 2 JD songs as well as 8 BL songs at their shows going to bitch about Hooky playing 13 NO/JD songs?

That aside, it was interesting to hear Hooky sing BM. I have always thought Hooky had a cool singing voice (I really like his vocals on that 1st Revenge album). Set list was fun as well.

What does Sister and Brother sound like?

Remember Barney has to be the bad guy! Curse him for performing songs! But in all seriousness, I still would rather see BL do LWTUA, I just think it sounds better.

I've got a video recording of it here. I can't get it on youtube though - not sure why. 500mb .mov file. Plays alright here. Just says error. Can't put it on divshare either as it's too big.

Booger.

I'd follow my postman around if he was whistling Blue Monday. It's good to see anyone singing New Order songs, I like them.

What was nice about Friday night was that Hooky's band were playing them a bit more live than NO/BL, who use a massive backing track.

Either is fine with me, but I did enjoy it this way.

LWTUA is better without all the 'come on' interludes.
