Judging by the way this thread is going, perhaps I'll approach the subject another way... ...plus I forgot I'm supposed to be playing 'The Grinch' in panto at Christmas (yes, I REALLY am!) In Tolworth, just down the road from where New Order played all those years ago...

Oh well...

You think I'm "Fred West" ? Why on earth ? I've heard of the bloke who used to be on here, had some tape lists from him in the past, but that's as far as it goes. I don't know what your game is Rocket Mick, other than that you are barking up the wrong tree.

It was just that he barred everyone from HIS site!It was shite though, see you and him have the same words in your profile about yourself.Very strange. He gets a NEW CD burner ,you do.Then he starts posting, gets barred again..says he will never post here again...and voila...SLOPPY FRED seems to convince NO one he his not posting here.Still i bet you are glad you are not him!But don't you just LOVE the ORDER...I shall find him...think he is staying at MARTY'S eating pies, corrupting sites and drinking LAGER.:D:D:D:D:D.Anyhow the confirmed RUMOUR will stop now cos i always talk a load of ROCKET SHIT.Question is EASY E do you? Rocket Mick making sense to those that KNOW!

Who says I have a new CD burner ? I bought a new PC a couple of weeks ago that had a burner with it. And as for having the same words in profile, forgive me for thinking that most of the words in the profile were the titles of New Order songs/videos. Or am I also 95% of the posters on the site for liking Temptation etc ? I started posting here after the Old Trafford gig, after meeting most people at Dukes 92. We even met each other Rocket Mick, I was one of the lads with Alex, tall with short blond hair, royal blue t-shirt. You are the shinehead bloke, yes ? I don't know what you are on about re. "his site", pies and Marty etc ?

No mate it was the one line at the end which is individual to each person...about myself in which you use the exact same quote. You don't know how to use the CD burner...like me,so therefore i assumed it was NEW to you.As i have said already yoy also own the same amount of tapes as FRED.But i also said GLAD you are not him.As for meeting you,i avoided ALEX at DUKES but if you met me WHAT happened at OLD TRAFFORD itself. You should know that if you was with him.No offence mate but people like a joke every now and again and if I have got the wrong end of the stick so be it. Now quiet please cos ALEX is TAPING!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Remember now!????????????!!!!! PS did i actually meet you on FRIDAY on CANAL STREET with ALEX...or is that another :nonono: Cheers anyhow ROCKET MICK :cool2: Get ALEX to do your converting ...he has ALL the correct gear!:D:D:D:D:D

Topic police here, the topic is XMAS Party :D

Just a small note, if you become organized and have all details, this will be published on the site as well.

Of course, there is no way I can make it, I'm still having a hard time recovering from the 2 months without a job, but I will do all my best to promote it!

Thanks Nick - perhaps it may be more sensible for me to suggest an arrangement and let you know so you can promote it through the site.

Would be great if you guys could come over too...

I'll mail you soon.

Cheers,

Chris

Topic police permitting.....

  1. The "about" line appears to be a bit different to me - I have an extra line on mine. It's also quite witty and very relevant.
  2. I know exactly how to use my CD burner. What I don't know how to do is to get tapes turned into CDs.
  3. I've probably got more tapes than most people. I've got no idea how many Fred has got, don't care much and fail to see what size of bootleg collections has to do with anything anyway.
  4. I spent most of the Old Trafford gig either sat in the stands with the wife or stood away towards the right of the stage. I didn't go to the front, and didn't see anyone after the gig (apart from Alan and co on the video screen with the flag). We got the tram to Stretford to avoid the massive queues, crossing over the bridge and back the other way into town.

Anyway, I will be attending the Christmas bash, wherever it is. Maybe if someone invites Fred West as well then you will see that we are two separate people.

How about we all start a "Send-April-to-the-UK" fund? :)

Actually I would LOVE to go!!!!

If I don't go though I will make a life size "April standee" and you must take me to the party and feed me yummy fruity drinks!! :p :love2:

Quite easy, you simply plug a line out of your sound system into the line in of your computer soudn card, then use a sound editor, such as CoolEdit or SoundForge to record and edit the song...

It's not more complicated than this !

Apologies if this has been mentioned but how about we hire out a reception room of a hotel?? hiring a club would be extortionatly expensive and just going out on a normal night out on the town is not exactly inspired is it!

If we hired out some reception room of a hotel or even a floor of a pub (in a chandos styleee) where we got an extended bar licence and a pair of decks we could have all sorts of fun and games with neworder related remixes on the ones and two's as well as barney dancing comps, lookalike comps and much more merry banter besides!!!

Lets go!!!!!!!

I'll look into how much places will cost. We may have to all bung in a few quid for the night but if we get a decent amount of people it wont be too much, besides many places will make the money on the bar so it may not cost much to hire a place, sorting out some decks wont be a problem neither ;)

My original idea was to hire a hotel function room. Each of us pay £10 a head. That way, we could have enough for some food, first drink 'free' etc.

I wondered if anyone might be interested in playing in a 'cooperative' N.O./J.D. covers band - set up some equipment (I could probably find a PA) and have a reasonably organised 'band'.

It would be good to find out how many people would be genuinely interested in going - if we had a minimum of 200, we could probably 'get away with it'.

That sounds like a good idea Christine, a bit of music would be good, especially if it was NO related - more so if it was NO covers ... would it be just possible that we all could formulate again the 'ultimate gig wish list' (cue a thousand sorry voices) or has your band only learnt the 3 chords to Bacon Lettuce and Tommy Sauce?

Would there be a disco afterwards with 70's tracks? ... I could get up and dance with R Mick - we could do the hokey pokey.

Are you prepared to make 7,000 triangle sandwiches or will ShugZX81 be bringing these?

I could supply a pallet of Pringles if that was required? (I have some contacts in the industry)

just please keep me away from those novelty flavoured pringles, things could get rather crunchy ;)

Well Huntsy,

You supply enough Pringles for the lot of us, I'll find a PA, and we can crunch our way through New Order and Joy Division classics, properly amplified.

The idea was if anyone wanted to get up and perform, then they could do it - much to the amusement of everyone else.

70's stuff? Can you 'do the hustle'?

Love & kissy wissys,

Christine

Yet again CN, another good / potential great idea ... why not perform the NO / JD classics and invite members of NOOL on stage to perform each song? - I'm sure after the wine has flowed a few people will be keen to 'strut their material' with a captive audience. It might be difficult preventing some members from taking over the mic. - at the end of the show a few could jump up and trash the stage sending egg and cress sandwiches high aloft into the smoke filled room.

Perhaps Al Jarvalistic could read poetry or The Easiest E could bend spoons?

Will the Mondays be the warm up act or will we have to rely on Rocket Mick's dancing pencils?

:hat:

The winner of the karaoke could receive a signed copy of 'Colourblind Mice' by Darius Danesh or similar trifle that emanates the top 40.

Incidentally, I was born to hustle.

For god's sake someone has to bring a video camera.

Having finally got my mitts on the Homage CDs, you should ask Liv and Co. to do a few numbers (provided Martin doesn't get to play the wrong chords at the start of Perfect Kiss that set everything else in the wrong key !!). Jim Reilly and Fred West could do some stuff as well. Their version of Truth was really good on record, and Fred's Day of the Lords was pretty good too.

Who's gonna sort this out then? And yes Huntsy...I'll bring some sarnies if you bring the crispies:nod:....Can I reserve 5 tickets please? :deal:

[Ahem] Two hundred? :skeptic:

People are surely getting a little carried away here.. .

If we get 20-30 regular NOOL'ers that'll be impressive, bearing in mind most people will have to travel. Not sure we could manage much above that, as has been well documented even when the band 'proper' are doing a gig. Can't say we got any more than that for Move or Finsbree. The weight of numbers in the World's End and Dukes 92 was really just down to people knowing other people from various New Order circles, and nothing to do with NOOL whatsoever. And if you want another 150 'friends of friends' there, then that sort of defeats the object of this being a 'NOOL' event ... surely?

Your right Jarvo, especially if as proposed we are playing NO and NO related music all night, i certaintly could get a load of mates to go along but cant see them all being particually enthralled about listening to NO all night long!!! I think only forum regulars and a few diehard aquaintances could tolerate that much NO in one go ;)

I thought 200 out of over 1000 was being realistic (especially if you think NOOL members would bring partners). The last similar event that I helped organise had 847 paying guests...

Oh well, looks like it might be in the upstairs room of a pub, an old record player and a tube of pringles... who's bringing the bottle of Lambrusco?
