Ok, which NO songs are the ones that you can/have listen to again and again and wallow in self pity after a particually heart wrenching breakup with your partner???

Sorry but however hard i tried it couldnt be narrowed down to less than 5 ;)

(in no particular order)

1)ruined in a day 2)this time of night 3)faceup 4)every little counts 5)special

In case of heartbreak, I would rather go for the NO tunes that will help me sing out lound while bursting into tears. So, heart warming songs, in no particular order :

  • BLT
  • Temptation
  • Age Of Consent
  • Love Vigilantes
  • Run

yea keepin upbeat is always a good way forward i nearly put down 'run' myself but i tend to go for the darker tracks, i personally think Barney voice sounds even better when he's got that slightly shakey "my lifes just fucked up" voice on some of NO's tracks !!!!!

... if the breakup occured during the christmas festivities. i would have to play the flexi-disk with ode to joy on it. then, i would snuggle up with a packet of crisps and enjoy it's a wonderful life on the tele. when christmas morning came, i would run downstairs to open my present, and think long and hard about obtaining several other birds.

That's because of posts like this that Hunsty is the king of this board !

Well...I could only come up with two right off the top of my head...

Let's Go (especially the part about how "you'll get nothing from me...)

and then there's Your Silent Face...something about the line "you've caught me at a bad time, so why don't you piss off?"

And Leave Me Alone..oh wait, that makes three...so I can't count...

That's right Jeff, you can't count and Geoff can't exceed the speed of a badger on foot.

speed of the badger ? Well, I guess that's where my English lets me down. Don't have a clue to what it can possibly mean...

shit yea!

"you've caught me at a bad time so why dont you piss off"

that line is priceless ;)

Geoff - do you know what a badger is? - well, imagine it running as fast as it could and you running alongside it.

That's all I meant.

would you like to go to the chippy with me?

For me it depends: If I'm pissed then its Round & Round, Lets Go, Blue Monday, Subculture...and a few others, if I just want to cry, then its Ruined in a Day, Your Silent Face, 1963, or Lonesome Tonight.

Now that's a funny topic. Let's see.... from what I can remember (because that's part of why I liked New Order so much at the start), here's what I thought fit perfectly with my mood at the time:

-Guilty Partner -Love Less -Round and Round -Subculture -This Time of Night -Bizarre Love Triangle -Special

Just thinking about them, I'm getting upset!!!!!!!!

5)Elegia 4)This Time Of Night 3)Love Less (appropriate title, in my opinion) 2) Ruined In A Day

And the no.1 spot goes to...

1)Special - simply heart-rending. Every time I listen to this I want to give Barney a hug and tell him he's going to be all right.
