Movement's one of those albums that can't really be judged as a New Order album so much as a post-Joy Division album. What I mean is, Movement's kind of like the first few gigs after Ian died, just getting back on stage and seeing if they could indeed carry on. So I don't slight Movement at all. It's flawed, to be sure, but it captures their mood at the moment. If Blue Monday had come right out of the pipe after Ian's death, it wouldn't have made any sense (going from Goth to Dance). At least with Movement, you get a sense that they're trying the usual stuff first without Ian, then expanding in order to not repeat themselves.
i,m with you on that one TABOO... to me MOVEMENT is a kind of transitional thing..
