Here's hoping the data stream is hooked up to this side of the planet.
:D
All the bits will be upside down thou.
DLing now, hope it's better than the EP though, as that didn't get many spins.
Interesting that the artwork say "Its a beautiful life", however the dowloadable file is "Its a wonderful life" - last-minutes album title changed due to copyright reasons, perhaps?

true, but "It's a wonderful life" is an extremely well known film as well, I was implying that they may have had this title in mind originaly, but changed their minds...

I assume all the draped cloth on the cover is an allusion to "Closer"? The parrot belongs to Cap'n Hook. The mound it's perching is the bonce of poor Bernard's fetid corpse.
Semiotics, innit.

I think he is refering to the rear sleeve notes. "Thanks to Becky, Imelda, Heather, Natalie and Ange"
There could obviously be more than one Heather that your dad knows, but you've got to remember, he is from Brazil!
I love the sleve, but I'm waiting for the ineviable python comments "I wish to register a complaint, I bought this parrot not half an hour ago..."

These phrases constantly pop into my head when reading pretty much any of Julio's posts so you're not alone there, Jack ![]()

Great, Steve!
You've got the message, though you're english ![]()
And it's not a fuckin' parrot on the cover, you all need to watch Animal Planet Channel more often ![]()
Download #1/2 failed.
Fucking great.
Download #2/2 so far so good...
LP downloaded at 2nd attempt. EP downloaded at 3rd attempt.
I guess I should consider myself one of the lucky ones?
Good stuff.

I had some troubles too but after the 10th time it was successful ![]()
Downloaded no problem. I really like it.
Not 100% sure about some of the vocals, which remind me of Pink Floyd. Some of the guitars do too. There's some really lovely bass bits throughout though, which is of course what we tuned in for. It's great to hear a nice clear recording of Paul's drums. I love those bits where it sounds like the all the nuts have fallen out of the kit and he's trying to keep it all in the air with the sticks. I don't know if there's a proper drumming term for that (or even if it sounds like a compliment). Lady Violence is a cracking example; that's a great track.
Stalingrad is still growing though. I'm beginning to think it might not be a grower at all.
I love the opening track Not Too Late, not least because it's got that element that I expected and hoped of Freebass: a wonderful interplay between Hooky and Rourke's bass, both of which I love to bits. Bonus melodica too - yes!
That interplay is on The Only Ones Alone too, and right through the album.
I'm dead pleased with it - really looking forward to seeing them live now.
And if the intro to Kill Switch takes me somewhere nice and buys me a couple of drinks some night, I think I might just fall in love with it.

First impressions; sounds a lot like Muse.
Half of it is great, the rest, let's see if it grows... pretty much the same reaction I had to NCAT.
Wow, that came out of no where, pretty cool! I just bought it, downloading now so no idea what it sounds like yet. I'm sure there will be something I love on it though, the EP was pretty good and I've always enjoyed Hooky's work in the past. Hopefully there will be a vinyl release at some point..
Downlaod worked nicely this time - first listen underway - liking Not too Late but need to get used to the vocals ...
Will download it soon...hopefully it's a smooth experience. Love the artwork - deserving of a physical release i think!
Nice surprise for a monday morning.

Only played the FILES several times yet so don't want to make any comment yet about how good this new Download is....
POLLY put the CD on![]()
This is so gay I can smell the lube dripping from your collective sphincters all the way over here in Bumfuck on the Salop/Staffs border.
Can we please have this released to ordinary people on a shiny silver disc ASAP? (aka - someone burn me a copy, please.....)
mark reed wrote: I buy music as a work of art - a package - not just a stream of data. CD or nothing.
thank you for that brilliant insight...my life is now complete, and I can die a happy man...
If they confirm a CD release, there'll be significant numbers who'll wait. Keep it as a maybe and they get a crack at more double-dipping. Muppets like me will buy it twice.
