Loved it instantly, absolutely. Great sound, and fantastic tunes. Hard to choose favourites now, maybe Lady Violence, World Won't Wait, She Said, The God Machine and Plan B. You hear a lot of Joy Division, New Order and Smiths, and yet it sounds like nothing else. The singer is alright. And the weakest song here pisses all over the whole Muse discography. Not as good as Revenge, but way better than Monaco, and maybe slightly better than Bad Lieutenant. It's amazing, really. It took time and it's a shame it's getting such a low-key release while it should be all over MTV, but I'd have never expected this to sound so good. Don't care about CDs, I don't even have room for them anymore. There's the artwork anyway, though the resolution is too small. Maybe a PDF booklet would have been better. Sound quality is good, just plug this to a couple of good speakers and who really cares if it's a cable to your stereo or a CD actually spinning at that point? For the most demanding audiophiles, it should be considered an option to purchase this as FLACs. But who needs real CDs nowadays, come on... if I had all the music I have on my hard disks as audio CDs I should rent another flat just for storing them! :D

Perhaps there will be How Not To Run A Club-esque deluxe special edition in the near future with extra tracks, booklet and fold-out poster, all housed in a box made from genuine Hacienda dancefloor... :)

I would easily buy that :thumb:

I'm confused about that guy... I saw him on Jools Holland a while back and he was this moody chav rapper playing a bass, and now he's this popstar? What happened? :confused2:

Hey can somebody PLEASE help me out, I was sucessful in downloading the new album with no problem, but the 4-track Ep is not allowing me to download it, I paid for it but there are no files for me to download like the full album, can someone help me with this.

paid and downloaded. no tech problems with the files going over the atlantic ocean to me. amazing how they do that!

need to give it a second listen tonight, was not what i expected, but i say that in a good way. the vocals need a second play for my brain to digest. more metallic than i had imagined it would be. keep forgetting this Freebass is less about Hook and more about other artists, compared to Revenge and Monaco's composing...

psyched to put on the akg 701s and listen to this properly later.

Record company 'marketing makeover'. There's a lot of money getting thrown at him just now. Loads. He's still fucking shite though.

Damn peer pressure... I think I'm going to get it...

But I want to point out again, that I still want a CD or Vinyl release.

OK OK I went on a shopping spree and I have it (even the EP).... And it's much better than Bad Loo.

Like it very much...

Can anyone please tell me who sings what (on album + EP)? I'm sure it was posted somewhere, but I'm too lazy to search for it...

Thx

Thanks Jack. Regards to your Dad.

And please persuade him to make this available on physical soundcarriers. It's too good for download only. :D

*Edit: Gary Briggs? Wow ;)

Like it too very much - compliments!! Would like it on vinyl - is it possible? Brings more to it than the BL album actually.

How is the album vs. the EP?

Hate to say it, but I thought the EP was ghastly and don't want more of the same on the disc (well, album-length groupings of digital files)

The album is way better than the ep, I only likes 2 songs from the EP, but the album is great with great catchy songs.

Am I the only person in the world who still prefers Bad Lieutenant's album? Or I hate listening to mp3 files?
