i really hope you enjoyed the shows - we had a great time out there and will be back

RE the pictures/filming issue - it is basically something that just got lost in translation - we have no problem with people filming the show or taking pictures or whatever they wanna do, all hooky wants to do is have equal rights to the footage/pictures as the person who took them does. unfortunately somewhere along the line this ended up in "dont take pictures or film anything" posters which by the time we got to seattle we were actually ripping off the walls ourselves. so sorry about that one.

same happened at the Freebass gigs. Some clarification needed.

and a better gig in LA next time, what was with the 9:30 curfew?

i thought the LA gig was pretty good to be fair... and the curfew is nothing to do with us.

:thumb: It was good acoustically, just hoped to stick around longer.

Hello, everyone, im on a mission at the moment, i have sent a few of you pms already, and trying to see if its possible to obtain a t-shirt. Im just trying my luck on this one. i went to the peter hook gig last night in DC and saw a tour shirt i really wanted, they only took cash which im not sure if that is for all venues but because of that, i wasnt able to purchase it immediately and had to find an atm, but when i decided to go buy it, which was still before the show started, it was sold out. It was a white shirt with the unknown pleasures wave on it with font right under it reading "manchester, england" and on the back it had large font reading "The Light" and the US dates printed under it. All of the font was in black and printed on a white shirt. And since most of you in here or anyone else reading this are planning on going to a peter hook show, i wanted to try my luck and see if anyone in here would be willing to do me a favor and buy that shirt for me and i would of course give you the money back and pay for the shipping. If you have paypal i would send the money through there so it would be i guess less "shady" for dealing with a random person lol. You would be secured through there. Like i said i really just want the shirt and just seeing if someone would help me out. Any help would be appreciated! you can pm me or send me an email at:

Well the Hookster's been criticised for this project but I saw it out here in Rome and am, technically speaking, fucking glad I did. No messin', no bullshit, just a heroic bass-player bashing out classic after classic. Oh and signing a CD for me! My girlfriend - who knows very little Joy Division - couldn't believe how great they sounded either. He can do all the dodgy spin-offs he likes, give Hooky a bass and a stage and we're happy.

Is it still 'Unknown Pleasures' a year later (like at FAC251), or will this idea of doing 'Closer' have materialised for those shows?

the first gigs of 2011 will have some new tracks from it thrown in i would imagine. we were soundchecking isolation in america and it sounded great but didn't get round to getting it into the set unfortunately.

but closer won't be played in full until may

Pleased to announce that we are going back to Portugal in February :)

The festival we played there in 2010, Paredes de Coura, is in my opinion definitely one of the best we have done on this tour. One of the best experiences of my life :thumb:

Any chance of returning to Australia for "Closer" in 2011?

Glad to see you back on the road. I talked to you a little after the Portland gig and you said you would be back in the states in 2011. Try and do an all ages show on the west coast so my 16 year told son can see you guys. It was amazing and glad to see it being done. You have many under age fans out there and not just us old folks...Saw your Dad almost every time he has come to the states. He is a legend!!!

I'd love to go back to Australia - it's been mentioned but nothing concrete yet.

Fact150 - I'll mention that - it would be a shame if people can't come simply because of age. One of the times I have been most gutted is when I got turned away from seeing Silverchair in Manchester a few years ago because I wasn't 18, despite it not being advertised as 18+

Gutted - but when I finally do see Silverchair it's gonna be epic.

JULIO - be patient my friend :ignore:

Hopefully you do come back! I've Seen Silverchair a few times at festivals, last time was 2002 at the Big Day out in Melbourne, just before New Order played.

Totally agree...please come back, Jack ...and this time I'll muster more friends to come to the gig. I've met many last year who said they wanted to catch you guys at Enmore but missed it for some reason or other, so this time they wont have any more excuses!!

Btw, didnt know you guys are fans of Silverchair. I used to hang out a lot with close friends of Ben Gillies the drummer. Also used to see Daniel Johns & Paul Mac biking around alot as I'm a Newcastle resident, in particular the suburb of Merewether - thats where Silverchair started & schooled there.

The band should keep travelling playing Unknown Pleasures for as long as that works out. As long as they eventually come back to the U.S. to do the Closer Tour, I will be happy. I was there on opening night in the U.S. and the band was absolutely fantastic!

P.S. The band could do an official release DVD of the Sydney gig. The footage of that gig on YouTube is of a professional quality.

When do you boys start playing 'Closer'?

Presumably that won't start till the 251 gig on May 18th?
