Just to be serious for a moment, I'm afraid our chances of seeing a New Order song at number one, albeit on the back of a charity, are virtually nil. I was confused as to why Comic Relief, who normally choose the current flavour of the month (JLS, Boyzone, Westloife or whoever), would choose on-his-arse George Michael to front their campaign?
And, of course, they havent.
The official Comic Relief single will be released by The Wanted with, presumably, an "hilarious" video chock full of celebs desperate to be associated with this worthy cause.
Which means that Georges unofficial effort could be described as a shameless attempt at recovering some public good will by releasing someone elses song. Wearing a red nose.
Ironically, this makes him no worse than all the other tossers involved in the offical song.

We’ve got exciting news for you all! George is releasing a new single: “True Faith”. Above that, George has generously made the decision to donate ALL money from the new single to Comic Relief! Arranged and produced by George himself, “True Faith” was a hit for New Order in 1987 and was written by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Hague. The writers have followed George’s lead and are also very kindly donating their proceeds to Comic Relief along with the publishers’ mechanical royalties.
The single, plus an instrumental version of the track as a b-side, will be available digitally on March 13 and physically on March 14. At 12:01 am on March 19, after the “True Faith” official music video has been premiered for Comic Relief, the single and video will be available for purchase as a bundle exclusively through iTunes. Former New Order bassist Peter Hook told the BBC Michael's version was a "beautiful" interpretation but admitted it was "not exactly to my taste". According to Hook, the band became friends with the former Wham! singer in the 1980s when they would attend the same parties in the US. "It's a very, very George Michael interpretation of the song and it's beautiful for that," he said. "It's very flattering. George doing True Faith is such a great compliment. "It blew me away when I heard it. Not exactly to my taste, but it did blow me away. "I think he's done a fantastic version and I'm delighted that it's for such a good cause."
I think the lyrics suit George very well.
Although maybe not 'I get the feeling I'm in motion' He's usually having 40 winks at the wheel when the car's in motion , no?

I quite liked that bit. Relaxing. Then that un-imaginative bit of riddim starts and the future looks very bleak.
So if he does his soulful acoustic thing it could be great or it could be dreadful.... who knows.
On the other hand, if he turns it into a big gay disco romp, it could be quite fun..... like Here To Stay 
It's made by a stoner and it's for charity, so let's just enjoy it's goodness and/or badness and not worry about it too much :)
Chris Evans is interviewing George Michael on the Radio 2 breakfast show on Monday morning (7th March) so it could possibly get its first airing then
