You can tell instantly on there that it's probably a bunch of loopy middle aged women who "after a few listens" automatically proclaim it's the best thing since Careless Whisper in order to justify a delusion of tucking George in at night and reading him a bed time story.

I think it's fair to say that it's never easy listening to one of your favourite songs being massacred no matter what Mr Eck says. For some poor (young) listener out there this may be their first and possibly only exposure to New Order which is horrifying.

That brief spell in HMP Pentonville obviously taught George nothing other than taking one of the best singles of the 80s and bending it over the mixing desk for a serious and unnecessary vocoder-aided rogering... and to think around here that people used to bitch about the live Perfecto mix (!) I concur with Burt - charity or not - GM can fuck right off.

Just heard an interview with George on Chris Evans' Radio 2 Breakfast Show where he talked about his 'problems' and also his work for Comic Relief.

Radio played the single (between 8am-9am) which is a new slower arrangement with a heavily vocoded vocal (just don't think about Cher when you listen it!).

Not sure if the hardcore fans will like it but the cover version fans may give it a nod in my opinion..?

Worth a couple of quid if only for charity!

Although I'm far from being a fan, I don't mind old Georgios but sweet mother of fucking hell, that is monumentally awful.

On the flip-side, I am now happily acquainted with the much better Boo Radleys cover. Cheers Jesu.

It's a charity single and New Order have already declared that they will donate all resultant royalties so I very much doubt Bernard will be saying that.

About the best the members of New Order could hope for in terms of "making money" from this would be if listeners were bothered enough to seek out the original version of True Faith on CD or via iTunes. It might boost a dusty New Order best of (of which there are many) one place up the charts or something.

I dunno, I guess I have mixed feelings. When compared to the the original, this version blows. It sounds very loungey ( I think I just invented a word). When treated as it's own song/single, it's not nearly as bad.

I give it a C-, I really expected more out of George. Use your vocal talent, man!

I do like George Michael,his covers of SOMEBODY TO LOVE and Adamski's KILLER are really good....but what was he thinking of with this? If you've got a voice that good,why ruin it with a third rate vocoder effect?
