To say a proper goodbye obv, so we could all cry during Regret and have some decent final memories.

There are many "best reasons" depending on which angle you look at it from I.e. money, credibility, loyalty, old times sake etc. etc.

So in essence all the answers you offer could be "the best reason" from one angle or other.

Especially the last one

And I thought "closure" was an American thing! Cock like the M1 is the obvious choice.

Obviously.

I keep hoping and praying that Depeche Mode and Joy Division / New Order all get inducted in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (USA) all at same time.

That would be a hell of a reason for them to play again.

The only reason they will ever perfom again:

Money.

My personal reason is so I could finally see them perform live. I've never seen them perform live and it's one of the items on my bucket list. :(

The unexpected and most unwelcome final tax demand. You know, the one they thought Tony Wilson had taken care of.

Is it money they want? fine!

I've got a crisp American twenty dollar bill for the band witch will be distributed as follows:

$7.50 for Gillian $7.50 for Steven because they're awesome

$4.00 for Bernard Because hes still so handsome but Steve and Gillan are still awesome

$1.00 for Peter because he has plenty of money. not so handsome

These are my terms.

Can you spare some loose change for Phil? He needs new boots.

something like that is how it will happen. they will be asked to play some award deal, and play one song together onstage, then realize it isn't really that bad compared to many other craptastic things in this life, and they will see $$$ to get that last lp out, and viola, 2014 Tour.

They might want a bigger "pension" so the money of course. Who cares if that IS the reason... the good times would roll for sure.

And I could actually see them play live.

because I was the king and I made them do it.

I don't think they should reform, but if they did, it must be with Gillian. Phil Cunningham should be in a band with Jo Callis or the like to rock to their hearts content, but seeing him in New Order is WRONG!!!

NO would probably have to do one more reformation gig - that is, with Gillian Gilbert on keys and guitar NOT Phil Cunnilingus - ONLY if the following happened:

Hooky, Barney and Steve all [respectively] had recurring horrific nightmares where Tony Wilson, Rob Gretton and Martin Hannett [respectively] cajoled, blackmailed, badgered and harangued each ex-member from beyond the grave, and then manifested themselves for real as restless spirits out on a mission for unfinished business for several days at a stretch, making each ex-member's life such a misery that they would be forced into getting back together for old times' sake......

I can't really see any other reason why they would be sharing a stage together again, unless, of course, Manchester was flattened by a huge earthquake and tsunami because Shaun Ryder had a mutha of a number two whilst sat on a bog somewhere.

  :shades: :evil4: :evil4: :evil4:

For me to bleedin' see 'em! Somehow even though it's been twenty years I never got to see them live. The closest I've got was Electronic 91 and The Light 2010. Destiny, probably.

What's your height in fathoms, I'm guessing ACR would have you classed as rotund. As for the band getting back together, I think it's better off where it is now, let's face it, the buzz of seeing them live wasnae the same since the 2001 shows. A large percent of the craic was meeting up with yer mates in shitholes like Wolverhampton, Bournemouth and Blackpool pre-gig fer a swally
