Bernard and Steve interviewed on there this morning. Bernard said the band were never called Warsaw.
The Beatles were never called the Quarrymen.
The Who were never called the High Numbers.
Joy Division never existed.
Good thing that Bernard isn't writing his memoirs - they'd be put straight in the "Fiction" category.

Steve is the only one who actually remembers the facts! How Barney can get Warsaw and Stiff Kittens mixed up I don't know. Barney (and Hooky) always get things wrong.
It was good to see them both on T.V, even though they don't legally exist as New Order. Shame only two or three songs ever really get focused on, but BBC Breakfast is mainly for Daily Mail readers, who I can't see as NO fans.
Steve and Barney were great, as normal. Shame about the interviewers who felt the need to pretend to be fans.

I noticed that at no point in the interview did anyone mention that NO had split... Being very careful not to harm the sales :)

It was a great interview and the presenters played their part making Barney and Steve quite engaging. Barney is actually quite articulate and moniker was a clever word.
So with all of this promotion does it point to any future 'new' New Order activity? release of WFTSC left overs + gig(s) maybe?
It just seems a bit more than we've seen before when the '94 best of was out and Singles etc? any thoughts?

We live in a world with so much more media than ever before (blogs, websites, internet radio, Twitter, Facebook...they make it sound like everybody's talking about it but that's not really true...) I doubt this means 'reunion with everybody else'.
Personally I cant see Total doing mega things. Most people under 35 probably dont know who New Order are let alone Joy Division. And I dont think they appeal to those who havent bought any of their stuff before (they probably know some of the songs but never had the foggiest who sang it). Thats down to NO not playing the marketing game to maximise sales/profit.
As for fans it only offers one previously released track which I imagine people would just download as an individual track.
Im not sure if tv appearances raises their profile enough if their not already in the publics conscience. Perhaps they should get an X factor muppet to butcher BLT and then release it on the back of a wave of publicity. I know thats not NO ethos but it worked for Tracy Chapman.

I can assure you that NOJD are very popular and well known by plenty of people under the age of 30. I happen to know a lot of people aged 18-25 who adore them. And they still get played in clubs a lot.

Exactly. Youngsters I went to university with (all 10 years my juniors) all know Joy Division and like or respect them (sometimes are annoyed by them), they're in a league say the Doors were when we were young. Let's face it they're a commodity/reference point/cultural item/whatever now for better or worse. New Order less so. The only trouble is, the youngsters don't like paying for their music nowadays.
very true about Youngsters not spending cash on music i think that is the problem ! am 21 now i have seen new order twice when i was 15 and 16 and there was guys younger than me there back then ! i heard blue Monday and krafty in a busy club a few weeks ago and the place went mad it was great to see ! :)
