New Order were at their best until Reading 1993, they usually always played their own songs. During that period, they were barely communicating with the audience, they were tense, aloof, focusing on their music and that made us love them : the music and the attitude. They rarely played JD songs and whenever they did it, they respected the soul of LWTUA, She’s lost control or Atmosphere (no “whoops”, integrity) The miracle of the Paris and Brussels gigs is the improvement achieved on songs such as TPK, True Faith and Temptation. I was looking forward to listen to TPK since Reading 1993 and I was also delighted to listen to Elegia, Love Vigilantes, 1963, AOC and even 586 live again (not totally convinced by 586 though). It nearly recalls me the feeling I had when I first listened to Mr Disco in Lyon in 1989, I never had this feeling when I heard She’s lost control in Paris in 2002 ( vs Orleans 1985). New Order have a repertoire larger enough to make awesome gigs in the future (?) without JD songs. However, I only missed one thing on Monday and Tuesday nights : the aggressiveness and provocation of our beloved bass player Hooky, even if he, without any doubt, would love to play a lot of JD songs. Let’s give the Nobel peace prize to the people who will reunite the original New Order.

Given the choice I would have preferred a song from Technique to LWTUA but they maybe wanted to make a point by playing 1 JD song an leaving it at that.

cheers Dude. I think this is a storming song live. I always thought it was a great song but maybe not developed fully. Ive got PC&L on heavy rotation now.
Really nice performings by them...probably the only way for NO to survive. From a slower and heavy act to a lighter, faster and funnier this way. Enjoy!!
