No! Was looking into it yesterday but got sidetracked by spending nearly half a month's wage on Prince tickets ![]()
Will text her tonight to discuss a plan of action. What performance is everyone going to?
Hiya Kez, would be good if you, Liv & Annie could join us to this, more the merrier. The deal is.....NO are supposed to be performing as you probably already know, alas we don't know WHEN exactly. There are 6 shows in Mcr but unsure if NO will be playing some or all or any. That's the dilemma.
As the venue, a marquee or somet, only has a 600 cap, we might miss out if we hang around to get more info. Soooo, me & Al have booked Satdy tix, both performances & together with Mickey Way also got Friday night tix.
Even the legendary Stash can't find out when. Andy Rob reckons he knows nuffink. That's it really, but hopefully our guesswork will pay off.
JS - you got any inside info on this one?
Had a bit of a text fest about this with Liv last night....think we're both of the mind that it's gonna be a bit of a waste of time to buy tickets without even tentative confirmation that New Order are doing this. I'm on a budget! ![]()
Think I'm going to risk waiting until some more info comes through.
You found anything else out yet Jonathan?! :D
Sorry to be a little late in responding, but you are, as usual, absolutely correct, Mr. M.
Make that General M.
... so I was saying to this bloke 'no, a cat is unable to leap from the grass onto the tree from a sloping angle' (like a long jumper in competition), a cat has to walk up to the base of the tree and jump at almost a ninety degree trajectory. Due in most part to feline evolution, in order to remain steady the eyes of a cat work in sharp angles, 45, 90, 180 etc. - otherwise it would become dizzy and collapse thus rendering itself helpless against predators. 'Think also why a cat doesn't just jump onto your kitchen cupboards from the middle of the kitchen floor' I said, gesturing to him like how a cat would not be able to perform such a feat.
How odd said the man, 'yes', I replied, 'I have other facts but I think that's enough to be getting on with'.

So, H, on the Lord of the Pringles DVD did you see the interview with Orlando Bloom where he said he conceptualized Legolas as a cat?
If a cat jumped on my kitchen table top I'd bat it off with a saucepan.
Allen if you're reading this - what went wrong? That £100 might have been better gambled on your boys going down ;) Well at least you saw one team give a lesson in how to play the game!
IZZY, IZZY, IZZY!
I didn't buy the DVD - I've only seen the film at the cinema (movies in America), I can't recall seeing anyone dressed up as a household cat but I did note some of the smaller beings sported whiskers. Is this what you mean?
I ventured to see Majority Rapport and was thoroughly un-phased by the entire episode. It was, unfortunately, just another film, rather than the sci-fi epic I was looking forward to. Highlight to us was counting the product placement, at 115 we gave up - and we hadn't heard of 'Terry's Crackers' which Thomas could clearly be seen in one chase scene where he was outrunning a cyber goose.
In a moment of, oh look, how coincidental, one of our prime TV channels showed 'Saving Private Brian' the other day and took the as yet unheard of (terrestrial) step of re-playing it again on Sunday night. See it Pat - you know it makes sense.
Couldn't you offer to moderate a new 'film review' section? - can you afford the time? You might only have to hire a thousand films in a year. (There can't be that many MTV Awards shows to get in the way)

Yes but your missing the point. You couldn't bat the cat off as it was heading for the top because it wouldn't have flown at an angle of, say, 20 degrees. With the cat leaping at 90 your hands are too large and cumbersome to afford an accurate hit.
That is why if a ball was launched at a cat the cat would always survive (unless hampered by weights) ... they would leap at 90 and avoid the wake.
Think about it football face.

He said he was inspired by the way a cat jumps up onto a table and then just stops still.
Shaving Private Byron is still on my must-see list, based on the prior recommendation from you and M, but how can I watch other movies when I haven't yet seen The Hobbit film more than 12 times?
Minority Rupert hasn't yet appeared on pay-per-view, so I haven't had the pleasure or pain.
What makes you think I have any interest in films?
You mentioned you'd seen 'The Rabbit' twice. I'm keen on this boy who is interested in cat halt. I can save him the bother of research (although I would never stand in the way of research) and state that a cat can stop rapidly because it has springs in its paws.
(or something like that)
You could always start a forum on MTV Award Ceremonies?
But what the hell do I know.

Answer: very little.
Thinking about it I put it to you that you comprehend the difference between a colon and a semi-colon. That must mean you are technically a decent film critic.
Mullholland Falls is good.

His cat training didn't help him in Black Hawk Down.
The recent MTV Video Music Awards was RUINED by being made to seem as though it had been taped two years ago even while it was supposedly being broadcast live, or have I said that already?

I'm talking about when it's sitting on top of the table top, not when it's flying through the air. If not I'd set my dog on it.
I like the convo in here, the only thing missing is activity from the band themselves, that would help a lot.
To the Cake Brothers, Fruitcake and Patty Cake : More please and thank you!! ![]()
Can any of you say you wouldn't rather read them two jousting with each other than a constant stream of 'what's your favourite New Order this or that' threads?? TAKE THIS FORUM BACK TO WHERE IT SHOULD BE AND ALLOW THE ENTERTAINERS TO ENTERTAIN!! Only then will the spirit of this forum be rekindled.
As the Shuglet said, there was always a good mix of on and off topic threads. People looking for facts could find the answers they sought, the rest of us could piss our fucking pants all day thanks to the never ending banter. Lets get back to that, FUCK THIS TWO FORUM SHIT!!

I do apologise Patsy, this will not happen again....well,![]()
Keep up the good work (while I'm at work) it's usually good fer a laugh listening to you's 2 (and whoever joins in) I am hoping fer an upgrade at work so I can visit during the day.....mind you, dunno if I could be arsed to join in, seeing as I never have a Scooby what ye's are on about, but it is good to see that he's not gone back to the alien language......was like trying to decipher the indecipherable on a rainy day in Peru while listening to The Spice Girls playing live on TV, while eating a soggy digestive biccy, and having heard that yer share prices have fallen by 33% fer the third day running, and the lawn mowers being knicked by a midget in a balaclava who happens to look like Ken Dodd......if you know what I mean;)

Hmm... "the alien language"... which period exactly in the history of NOOL might you be referring to? Can you give examples? I thought the discourse on cats today was very much classic H...
You misunderstood Patsy.....the stuff recently has been thorughly readable, it's when he goes into his own wee world, with his names fer certain things / objects, one minute you think you know what he's banging on aboot, the next yer bamboozled again![]()
Examples?......yer joking, dig up any thread from a year ago with Humpty in, and you'll see what I mean;)

Well, yes, when he said "Rabbit" today, I had no idea what he was talking about... But that's part of the charm, isn't it?

You remind me of someone who lost its elections and keeps raving about how bad is the new Prime Minister.
What part of this message board's guidelines do you exactly not understand?
Because obviously, even if we keep repeating it, you just don't understand -- or rather doesn't want to because, somehow, for some reason, you seem to think you are entitled to decide what is ok for this forum and what is not.
I'm amazed at how much a grown-up man like you gives so much importance to an internet message board -- it seems so important to your life that no wonder why you keep bringing this issue up. You just can't swallow, can you? [insert joke here].
I'm also amazed that, unlike any other person who would want to express a disagreement with the way this website is managed, you didn't write to us to tell it. Like always, and this is most certainly your best weapon and you are very aware of it and use it excessively -- you prefer to raise the question publicly, by adressing yourself to the other users and try to create a popular movement (where, incidentally, someone like PATRICK will always jump on the bandwagon. And, of course, this is a British-phenomenon only, minus rare exceptions, and the "followers" are always the same ones -- personal friends of The Muffster himself.
Can't you just stand on your own? Or do you like politics so much?
In any case, I feel I am forced to repeat what I said months ago, in the fury caused only by yourself in the first place: if you are not happy with this message board, why don't you just start your own?
Until then, if you want to keep posting here, you will respect the forum's guidelines, community standards and the website's terms of use. That's not a suggestion, by the way.
DEAL WITH IT.
There's no place for your banter here -- the general chat forum, named Behind Closed Doors, was created for that, and be very grateful for it because it was created only because and for you and your followers.
END OF THE STORY (until you continue it, of course).
