I've done some calculations, and I think I've spent around $500 on New Order/Joy Division/Side Project stuff.
That's on albums, singles, T-shirts, magazines, and rebuying albums and singles after I've scratched them.

I still have some glaring gaps in my collection :( albeit mostly obscure remixes!
what are you missing Don? I'm sure some arrangements can be made.....although i'll be in the land of Green (portland) today and tomorrow, I could send you the mixes you are missing. email me with your wish list....

I don't even wish to think about it...does this include airline tickets, hotels, passports lost in foreign lands, uhm...never mind, I was hoping to forget that part...
let's just say a lot...
and mine is probably miniscule compared to Jarvo, Johnny Giles and all those other crazy fooks that went to the west coast of the States...and Australia...and....
Hum, let's see.. their albums together is almost 200$, plus all the damn CD singles is also a lot of money, then videotapes, DVDs..

It must be between 1500-2000$ CDN (1000-1300$ US) I guess.. considering 10$ today isn't the same as 10$ 10 years ago, this is not really reflecting the reality.
Sure, I'm a >lot< behind David Sultan who spent this amount on one item only :evil:

I've only been a fan for a few years now, and I've never been to any shows. I can't help it that I was only a little kid when New Order was in their heyday.

God knows! Not only do we spend a fotune on the music / gigs etc.....but most of my holidays are used up, either due to long weekends fer gigs, or long weekends fer NOOL piss ups........but it's worth every penny
Quite a bit here as well; haven't put a dollar figure on it, but there are all of the albums on vinyl, except Get Ready, as well as lots of the UK 12" and 7", a few US promo singles of both sizes, the videos (hell, I have Taras Schevenko on BETA!).
I don't see a lot of the controversial remixes that are apparently mostly bad, from the views that are expressed here, around here, and I thank those that have taken the time to do so. It's saved me a few dollars.

Nah, I didn't mean the time, otherwise I would be quite rich.. the site looks like a mess, but what you don't see is the wonderful administrator module that I did, mostly to ease Mr Boisvert's life in entering data on the site.
I meant the money I paid monthly and weekly (domain, hosting, etc).. :D It's a hobby, so I don't count ;)
2000 GBP on flights alone to Oz earlier this year for me and Paula, and she spent 1300'ish on flights round the US for us on the Area:One tour. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.. .
Don't begrduge 'em a penny, mind.
£20 return on a Ryanair flight to Dublin to see them in June (wahey!). £40 for a taxi to get me to Prestwick airport after I slept in for the train (boo!). Approx £150 on hotels and ridiculously overpriced lager in a succession of shite Dublin bars.
The best bit was wakening up after my booze fuelled afternoon catnap and deciding I couldn't be bothered shifting my lazy arse to go along to the actual gig!
I love the look on my mates faces when i tell em i've payed out for a full price festival ticket just to see one band! But hell for a fan its just par for the course :)

First record bought: September 1985 (Low-life LP) Last record bought: June 2002 (Crystal CD-single) Inbetween those: all the 12" except Perfect Kiss, Murder and Run2, all the CD-singles except Ruined in a day (the one with "Vicious circle": I have the reggae one-oh lucky me!), all the albums on LP and CD, all the videos, the 316 DVD, two bootlegs, magazines, newspapers...
never figured out the cash spent, but surely it's a bucketfull of dollars, pounds, euros... you name it!

Oh I forgot JD and the side projects! JD: all the albums on CD and LP, LWTUA (the permanent CD-single) Electronic: everything apart from "Get the message" (I've got the DNA remix 12": again, how lucky me!), "Until the end of time" and "Late at night" Monaco: got it all! Revenge: got it all! The Other Two: just the albums on CD And the Factory stuff: The "Factory outing" video, "Palatine", even The Mondays' awful live album (only heard it once: got the live video wich is much better!)...

similar thing happened to me in around 1990, had a pristene condition Brotherhood box set in my hands but couldnt really afford it at the time. I also recall saying i'll go back for it... hmmm :( Also missed out on a FeelEveryBeat vhs promo video as well at a trade fair for similar reasons, £15 quid for one song whien i had it on video anyway..! still would love it in my collection now though!
I don't know, but I spent $125 so far this week... I would say about $400 - $500 so far... but my live show appetite will not be quenched.
