Two hours behind i think, so 1.30am GMT kick off.

And i can always handle a bit of gay disco.. lol I'm an NO fan, but the incessant speed talking of Argie DJ's was too much of an aural assault. Do these people ever speak slowly?

Brazil is two hours behind, so the gig is going to happen at 11:30 PM GMT.

I suspect they're going to block the streaming outside Brazil, but you can always try: http://musica.terra.com.br/umf-brasil

Can someone record it in HD, please?

Is the gig 11.30 Brazil time? cos that would make it 1.30am GMT.

Nope, the gig is 9:30 PM in Brazil.

Soulwax from 8, supporting New order.

I bet its Brazil only.

Actually, if you stuck Deadmau5 on after those two, it would be pretty much gig heaven.

No neither can i from contrique's original post. tried Ricardo's link and you get to a page where there's streaming video except it's not playing. couple of choices with thumbnails above the blank stream but can't get anything when clicking on them either

Yes. The show is over and no encore... Temptation was the last song.

It used to be back in the good old days, and nice to see it back.

10 song sets are unusual, but probably down to the festival organisers and their strict timings.

that interview has just reminded me how shorter they all look off stage. I remember walking through a packed hacienda crowd back in the day and my mate repeatedly saying "there's Barney", and I'm going "where", he was stood a foot in front of me and I was just looking over his head, then again I am 6'5" :uhoh:

I'm a bit ashamed of being Brazilian after watching this interview. It kind of reminds me an interview with Florian Schneider in 1998 at a festival. Even Gillian seems very talkative in comparison.

What about the amount of people in the audience in Sao Paulo? 10.000?

Big Mouth Julio wrote: What about the amount of people in the audience in Sao Paulo? 10.000?

The organizers of the festival stated that 25,000 tickets were sold. I think that half of the total audience watched New Order, so 10,000 to 12,500 people is a reasonable estimate of the crowd.

The audio quality is not really good, even for a webcast, it's too low.

I will upload the videos to YouTube later, as soon as I get back home.

Yeah it's great. Too bad these professionally-shot videos have poor sound mixing. God, Bernard sounds miles away like it's 1981 all over again. Also, I think the stage lighting affected his guitar playing.

Lou Reed & The Velvet Underground

Below video about this amazing rock opera written in 1978 by the best living rock songwriter, the NYC man Lou Reed. The song is divided into three parts (Walzing Matilda, Street Hassle, Slip Away), which have all the same music structure that meets first the orchestra, then acoustic guitars and rock bass guitars, and at the end the prayer of a penitent man, made of tears.. "Love has gone away and there's no one here now And there's nothing left to say but oh how I miss him, baby Ah baby, come on and slip away come on baby, why don't you slip away.." the Lou's masterpiece.

Did it influence What do you want from me? Cause of its sha la la, of course.

If you listen more to the Picadilly radio session version of 'Atmosphere/Chance', you can really hear the similarities with 'Walk on the wild side'.But hey, I'm sure that's been mentioned as well on another thread?.

I think Barney's vocal cadences and some of his phrasing and tone when he sings is definitely influenced by Lou Reed's singing style. Also thought Barney's rhythm guitar playing sounded like it was influenced by Lou's.
