too right barney's vocals were a bit muddled or maybe instrumentation was just over-powering, me thinks throughout the gig ..except for couple of barney's yelping here and there 
I never understood why they didn't play this in 2002 : glad to hear it at last. Looks as if the new lineup are finally getting the band to do some work and bring variety to the sets again. Been too long.

I hope they keep Love Vigilantes off the set list, doesn't really work live in my opinion.
Hope they play HTS and Round and Round in April.
Sounds fucking fantastic! This video is only the first half of the song though.
This is, in my opinion, one of their best songs. It was a missed opportunity that it wasn't on GR and was released as a sountrack single for 24 HR PP......would have been a killer first single for WFTSC, and it would have fit on and elevated that album. I bet it would have went Top 10 in the UK.
And WHY didn't they play it live before this? It sounds fucking great and listen to the big cheer from the crowd when it starts, people love this song!

Def agree its great fkg song and should have been on WFTSC album, in fact, should have been the opener - you see the title GET READY obviously alerting the world New Order's back...and then with opening track for follow-up album title HERE TO STAY would have been perfect telling the world NEW ORDER is here to stay...ORDER! ORDER! ORDER!

Hi, I took this footage from the Melbourne concert at Festival Hall on 1 March 2012. Unfortunately, the security guy (in front of me) kept looking at me so I could not film all of 'Here To Stay'. Had the same problem with other songs. I will put more on Youtube in coming days. Enjoy!! (PS - we don't see much of New Order in Australia so the crowd was very happy with the entire night!).
I just used my mobile phone for the footage - a Sony Ericsson Experia Arc s. I think it is in 720p resolution. Unfortunately, the phone did not like the loudness/bass so the music does not come across as clear as on the night. Audio was brilliant at the gig!

I think Here to Stay would sound better if Barney sings it less strained and more whispering.

I don't think the vocals were too bad, the entire song was a mess though. Needs a bit of work. Likewise '1963' does not work live anymore, new arrangement lacks, well everything.
Sadly I don't think Here to stay works. The guitar sounded messy. I had to force my ears to hear the rift. And Barney failed in singing it.
I also think 1963 didn't work live. I liked Round & round. Well lets see what they do next? Maybe the village???

Give em a chance for christ's sake. First time they've ever played it, it's gonna be a bit rough and ready. Reserve judgment until after they given it a few more run outs and got used to it a bit more! And perhaps reserve judgment until you've actually seen it live as well!
I don't want them to stop playing it. At least until we get a nice soundboard recording of it. I do hope it improves.
If they come to Italy and play Round and Round PLUS Here To Stay I'll be as happy as Melanie C's bicycle seat. Everyone has their story of how they got into New Order, for me it was R&R on TOTP early 89! Classic moment, classic song and let's be honest their only consistent album. Everyone goes on about LowLife but it's only the first side really, Technique remains the true killer.
Intro sounds alright but a bit messy after that but yeah first time ever played so give it a chance. That intro reminded me how the extended version on the 12" starts and prompted me to give it a spin for the first time in years

You can hear on the video of 'Round and Round' that it does work ok, but being there for 'Here to stay', hearing it live in person, it didn't.

It was a single and hit no.15 in the UK, which isn't a bad position really.. unless I am missing something here
It sounded slightly dated in 2006 whereas today Crystal still sounds fresh.

Even the lyric is way too trite for New Order (a band infamous for their trite lyrics). Repeatedly singing 'Here to Stay' is just a bit crass/wank really.
Compare that to Out of Control, which is simply the best New Order track that New Order never wrote.
Having said that, be interesting to see this live, if only for something different.

No one does an electro/rock/disco stomper like New Order and I think the Chemicals influence was just getting them to have another go at it. I think it was a success musically, which is most important to me. You can't have expected Ed & Tom to write the lyrics as well.
I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer it to any of the Get Ready singles. All the remixes (and especially the instrumental) were excellent. How many New Order singles in the last 20 years can stake that claim?
I love here to stay, but this just sounds messy, the guitars sound harsh, the bass is playing something completely different to the melody that should be there and the vocals sound naff, maybe they just fucked it up and next time it'll sound fantastic, that's the way they used to be! I think as they are getting Stuart Price to help re work some tracks they could have done more, like with 586.
At least they gave it a whirl. Stuart Price probably convinced them to give it a try, so they did. Might have been the phone recording distorting things, but the guitars were horribly overblown, bass totally wrong and vocals typically Barney. Just what we have all loved for so many years, archetypal Order!

I think the weight of expectation maybe got the better of both parties. You had at least 5 people trying to construct a tune and it became overflowing with ideas and er, keyboards. The Radio Edit sounds really cluttered, sections smashing into each other and all these sounds vying for your attention. It's overproduced.
The Full Length Vocal's a bit better but I still don't think it's a patch on either Crystal or Out of Control. Out of Control sounded quality at the Bad Loot gigs.
Anyway, I'm also looking forward to hearing it live. As others have said anything new in the set is more than welcome

Well listening to the extended instrumental on the Retro boxset it defo has the Chemical Brothers production sound to my ears. I think it would have fitted on their Push the Button album quite nicely after say, Surface To Air.
Anyone else notice Andy Robinson snapping pics on left of stage during the Melbourne show? He was literally right in front of me much of the time, I was right up against the barrier close to Phil. There's a nice photoset on NewOrderNow from Andy of the Melbourne stand-alone gig.
Yeah he snapped all gig long in Brisbane too. Maybe they're really trying with the NON website. I do notice that they have gone French on us.......
It sounded better on the night. Another thing i noticed is the band need a bigger screen behind them. People have bigger tv's these days.:) Have they ever played ' Morning day and Night' lived .i think that would be a better party track than' Krafty'. I still don't know they went for 'Krafty' or'Waiting for the sirens call' as singles, they are a tad light in my book.

It's a matter of opinion? I loved the song when it came out, I thought it was better than anything on GR bar Crystal. I love the electronics and synth melodies, and I like Bernard's lyrics a lot.
With this live version, it would seem that the synth melody is missing when the guitars kick in on the intro...perhaps Gillian came in late playing it or her synth wasn't audible, and thats why it sounds a bit off. When it gets to the verse and the chorus I think it sounds good. Will probably sound better if they play it more.

There is something not right with some of the backing tracks, I have to say. All the new versions of 'Blue Monday', the backing keyboard mix is very unbalanced, the live bass is always way too loud because of that.
'here to stay' was a wall of mess, where as 586 (apart from the new bass line) worked well.
Apologies for the distance on my Youtube videos (first time uploader). The tickets sold really quickly so I ended up in the right corner - there were hundreds behind me though. This was just a record of the night - it was the best I could do with a mobile phone! Audio was great at the gig - just too loud for my mobile phone to handle.

don't worry about it.. i uploaded some videos from an 'underworld' concert i went to.. same issue, sound problems, wobbly camera..
a lot of people are really happy just to hear or see something they weren't able to go to..
i'm glad for all people that do stuff like this.
because it means you are sacrificing the experience of watching it, for the purpose of recording.. (even if you really aren't paying attention to the recording)...
some people do this through the whole gig, and miss out on the actual show, just to go back and watch the videos!
never could understand the point of those people going to the concert if they just wanted to record it.
