No one does an electro/rock/disco stomper like New Order and I think the Chemicals influence was just getting them to have another go at it. I think it was a success musically, which is most important to me. You can't have expected Ed & Tom to write the lyrics as well.

I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer it to any of the Get Ready singles. All the remixes (and especially the instrumental) were excellent. How many New Order singles in the last 20 years can stake that claim?

I love here to stay, but this just sounds messy, the guitars sound harsh, the bass is playing something completely different to the melody that should be there and the vocals sound naff, maybe they just fucked it up and next time it'll sound fantastic, that's the way they used to be! I think as they are getting Stuart Price to help re work some tracks they could have done more, like with 586.

At least they gave it a whirl. Stuart Price probably convinced them to give it a try, so they did. Might have been the phone recording distorting things, but the guitars were horribly overblown, bass totally wrong and vocals typically Barney. Just what we have all loved for so many years, archetypal Order!

Well listening to the extended instrumental on the Retro boxset it defo has the Chemical Brothers production sound to my ears. I think it would have fitted on their Push the Button album quite nicely after say, Surface To Air.

Anyone else notice Andy Robinson snapping pics on left of stage during the Melbourne show? He was literally right in front of me much of the time, I was right up against the barrier close to Phil. There's a nice photoset on NewOrderNow from Andy of the Melbourne stand-alone gig.

Yeah he snapped all gig long in Brisbane too. Maybe they're really trying with the NON website. I do notice that they have gone French on us.......

It sounded better on the night. Another thing i noticed is the band need a bigger screen behind them. People have bigger tv's these days.:) Have they ever played ' Morning day and Night' lived .i think that would be a better party track than' Krafty'. I still don't know they went for 'Krafty' or'Waiting for the sirens call' as singles, they are a tad light in my book.

I think the weight of expectation maybe got the better of both parties. You had at least 5 people trying to construct a tune and it became overflowing with ideas and er, keyboards. The Radio Edit sounds really cluttered, sections smashing into each other and all these sounds vying for your attention. It's overproduced.

The Full Length Vocal's a bit better but I still don't think it's a patch on either Crystal or Out of Control. Out of Control sounded quality at the Bad Loot gigs.

Anyway, I'm also looking forward to hearing it live. As others have said anything new in the set is more than welcome

It's a matter of opinion? I loved the song when it came out, I thought it was better than anything on GR bar Crystal. I love the electronics and synth melodies, and I like Bernard's lyrics a lot.

With this live version, it would seem that the synth melody is missing when the guitars kick in on the intro...perhaps Gillian came in late playing it or her synth wasn't audible, and thats why it sounds a bit off. When it gets to the verse and the chorus I think it sounds good. Will probably sound better if they play it more.

There is something not right with some of the backing tracks, I have to say. All the new versions of 'Blue Monday', the backing keyboard mix is very unbalanced, the live bass is always way too loud because of that.

'here to stay' was a wall of mess, where as 586 (apart from the new bass line) worked well.

Apologies for the distance on my Youtube videos (first time uploader). The tickets sold really quickly so I ended up in the right corner - there were hundreds behind me though. This was just a record of the night - it was the best I could do with a mobile phone! Audio was great at the gig - just too loud for my mobile phone to handle.

don't worry about it.. i uploaded some videos from an 'underworld' concert i went to.. same issue, sound problems, wobbly camera..

a lot of people are really happy just to hear or see something they weren't able to go to..

i'm glad for all people that do stuff like this.

because it means you are sacrificing the experience of watching it, for the purpose of recording.. (even if you really aren't paying attention to the recording)...

some people do this through the whole gig, and miss out on the actual show, just to go back and watch the videos!

never could understand the point of those people going to the concert if they just wanted to record it.
