Are you trying to be controversial, Ed?

Hmmmmmmmm: the 4/11 has been the date touted for some time now. According to t'other site, it'll be a four CD set, a la "Heart and Soul", which kind of blows out the purists who wanted individual singles. Assuming it'll retail for a similar price - ie: £30 - and here's hoping it has a booklet with snazzy photos and inane ramblings from Paul Morley and his infinite chins......

Is this box set the now legendary ever-pending 'box set' full of rare gear or is it the new best of?

Does anyone know what's in the tin? ... beans?

Can someone clarify what is 'the other site'. Having just clicked on neworderweb and entered their chat room it would appear I was observing some sort of outbreak of war - I guess this isn't where Ed plies his trade?

More info from "the other site":

John Mc Cready? Miranda Soya? Who the f**k are them?

John McCready is a music journalist from Manchester and an ex Hac DJ, click HERE for a brief biography.

Miranda Soya.....hmmm. Was she their US tour manager? Maybe not.

Do they perhaps mean Miranda Sawyer, 'I love the 1980's' type media-bint who seems to have something to do with the band in recent times ?

Who mistakes Regret for Republic and asks the band on 316 about why it got such bad press when it was released, much to their confusion?

Hmmm. Knows her New Order, does Miranda.

A mellow guy who thinks he can do a 'fuck you' to the entire UK cos we [ahem] 'harbour' Muslims?! I would hate to see you when you're not mellow.

Anyways, I think there's a few people here - the likes of 1645hrs, etc - who get their info ahead of most New Order related websites on the net. So this is always the first place I'll pop in on my travels.

no Jarvo...he is very mellow...he just didn't like MY atitude...now be careful, or he'll have his lawyer after you as well...besides, can't you tell, English isn't his native language, so I think he sometimes just has trouble trying to say what he really means...

oops...am I being mean again???

Miranda Sawyer! Yes, I knew it sounded familiar. She was editor of Smash Hits for a while, wasn't she? Pedigree....

So that's Blue Monday, True Faith and BLT splattered all over every CD, with remixes galore, live versions, enhanced DVDs, fookin' sheet music (sic) and all kinds of gubbins, and absolutely nothing of interest to anyone who would otherwise buy the product.

Why am I deeply saddened by the choice of track selectors ?

Miranda Sawyer wrote for the NME for a number of years in the late-80s. She also was involved in cutting-edge/embarrassing forays into yoof TV, such as the still much-missed "Snub TV" and the dire, patronising "Reportage". Still crops up on late-nite art progs on BBC2 and C4 now and again.

Infotainment over, like other commentators I can't understand why the band haven't chosen the tracklisting......???????
